Remember when We learned about the Walkaway campaign designed to get democrats to ‘Walkaway’ from the Democratic Party and how they had speakers tied to Brexit? Remember it was a coordinated effort to suppress the Black vote?

Here’s a wee thread on Candace Owens’ Blexit.🧵👇🏻

Blexit, a cheap play on the name given to the UK crusade to leave the European Union, was created to do the same work as Walkaway. Instead of Brandon Straka trying to get Black voters to Walkaway from the Dem Party, Candace Owens tried to get Black voters to ‘exit’ Dem party.

Both of the these endeavors were designed to limit Black turnout. This is voter suppression. They were not trying to win people over, they were trying to get them to not vote because they assumed they would just vote Democrat. It is racist, cynical and divisive.

The links between what happened in the UK during Brexit and the US during 2016 election (and beyond) are so many and so strong, we need to think about this as a global operation to divide citizens of democracies and install useful idiots. Boris Johnson and trump were both putin.

Both countries used Cambridge Analytica. Steve Bannon, Nigel Farage, and others spread messages to sow discontent, blame ‘others’, fill the heads of the disillusioned with nationalist rhetoric. Candace Owens has been an important voice is this messaging and had a targeted group.

Candace Owens is the President and Director of Blexit. If you look at their corporate profile, you’ll notice their treasurer is a man named George Farmer.

Did you know that Blexit treasurer George Farmer is the son of a British politician and House of Lords member and former Conservative/Tory Party treasurer the right honorable Michael Farmer? And he is married to Candace Owens?

The Tory party is the GOP in UK. Oppressive, gaslighting, tax the poor to fill rich pockets. You know, right wing conservatives. You might even remember the Tories from your history class because we beat them in the Revolutionary War for Independence. You know, 1776 and that.

George Farmer is also the Chairman of Turning Point UK. If that sounds familiar, it’s because you know from the Walkaway thread that there is a Turning Point USA. Turning Point USA was founded by right wing student organizer Charlie Kirk. They’ll get their own thread.

Here is where I would link to a video of Candace Owens speaking about the Walkaway movement. At the time she made this video, she was the Director of Communications for Turning Point USA. But the video is no longer available for some reason.

So there is a Turning Point USA, Candace Owens was its Director of Communications and she is married to the Chairman of Turning Point UK and they both sit on the board of Blexit. Another Walkaway speaker was Katie Hopkins. A huge Brexit proponent. So many connections.

Speaking of connections, let’s again look at Blexit’s leadership team. You may have noticed above, their Vice President is a man named Brandon Tatum. You may also recall from the Walkaway thread, that Walkaway produced movies. Brandon Tatum is listed as one of their ‘stars’.

Did you notice Brandon Straka’s name was there too? Of course you did because you are awesome followers who pay attention and I truly appreciate everyone of you! 🥰

I mentioned that Candace Owens was the President of Blexit. Here she is sharing a nice moment with her then fiancé and aforementioned George Farmer back stage at a Blexit event. Oh hey look, it’s Ann Coulter! What was she doing there? washingtonpost.com/news/magazine/…

There were many events put on by Owens and Turning Point including this one that took place at the White House. Here is one in which Candace Owens speaks to the Young Black Leadership Summit. Owens began her remarks by saying the media says they don’t belong there. How welcoming.

You may recall trump got Covid. His first appearance after his Mussolini photo op was with Blexit. Never forget that the first group of people he spoke to while shedding viral load of a deadly virus was Black people forced to wear Blexit t-shirts. abcnews.go.com/Politics/canda…

Did I say Blexit t-shirts? Did that article say ‘paid to attend’? Yup. BTW, those t-shirts said ‘Back the Blue’. Recall this was happening at a time when the country was enduring yet more police brutality against Black people. dcist.com/story/20/10/10…

So many similarities and connections to Walkaway. So many similarities and connections to Brexit. Both using disinfo and fear mongering tactics designed to weaken democracies. Who benefits from a weakened EU? Who benefits from a weakened US?

I also noticed that the Walkaway Campaign founder Brandon Straka and some of the Walkaway speakers were listed on the @January6thCmte request for information letter. I didn’t see Candace Owens listed however. Perhaps @BennieGThompson may wish to expand his request.

Investigating these connections between Walkaway and Blexit could be a Turning Point.
