We have heard various statements from Iran about what may be the time frame on their end. Not up to us to characterize those statements. US would like to see those negotiations restart ASAP to see if mutual return possible

Continue to believe JCPOA is most effective means to achieve objective. But advantages JCPOA convey will continue to be eroded the longer this goes on. Continue to see concerning reports from IAEA, when comes to nclr safeguards, Iran compiance w NPT

We are cognizant as Iran puts to use more sophisticated technology, garners knowledge from the nuclear program that currently administering that is not in compliance that will dull original advantages that JCPOA brought forth...Process cannot go on indefinitely.

Not at point of abandonment. Continue to believe mutual return to compliance is within realm of possible and continue to pursue.

Broader point, we are working from a point of consensus w/our P5+1 partners, inc. Europeans, EU, Russia & China. Broad agreement that indirect negotiations should resume in Vienna as soon as possible
