My 9/11/2001 story

Some folks may doubt that God has a plan for each of us. This story may change your mind. So here it is:

I was working for #Oracle Corp. at the time.

I was selected by the Oracle project manager Frank Deming (RIP), to do a GL software implementation in the WTC - Marsh & McLennan (I think?) starting around 8/1/2001 and would last for about 12 weeks.

But my Oracle management group CHANGED my assignment and sent me out to Lucent Technologies in Allentown PA to implement some different Oracle software for a Lucent subsidiary. I was not happy at that time because it would take me out of town.

It was at Lucent that I met Todd Beamer (RIP), one of those really GOOD people that you meet sometimes in life. Todd was the Oracle salesman assigned to the Lucent Technologies account.

I spent the next few weeks working in Allentown PA with Todd Beamer. Then I was back in NY working at a different client in midtown Manhattan on that horrible day of 9/11/2001. I couldn’t get home for 2 days.

MANY of us lost family & friends on that horrible day.
Frank Deming had a family.
Todd Beamer had a family.
I can only assume that God wanted me to stick around for another 20+ years. I’m still not really sure why but I am thankful.

So here I am today, very grateful to be alive, and also VERY AWARE of God’s presence in our lives 🙏🏼
Please pray for all the innocent people who went to work on that awful day 20 years ago and may God bless them and bring peace to their families & friends.
