34 Senate Seats are up in 2022. 👇The state, the incumbent, their party, the year they were first elected, & the % they won by last time. If you can, find a way(s) you can help support a Republican in a close race. We need every seat we can get in the Senate.
CNN (take it for what's its worth) says the following races are the closest: PA, GA, WI, NC, AZ, NV, NH, OH, FL, CO.

@KurtSchlichter has a good column today on one of the Republican candidates in NV: Adam Laxalt.
270towin swaps out MO for CO, but otherwise has the same races as the contested ones.

"I appeal to you again to constantly bear in mind that with you, and not with politicians, not with Presidents, not with office-seekers, but with you, is the question, "Shall the Union and shall the liberties of this country be preserved to the latest generation?"Abe Lincoln 1861
Notice that Lincoln emphasizes that this inquiry must be made repeatedly. He uses both the words "again" & "constantly" in his introductory phrase. It is not something done once and then set aside as completed.
The construction of his sentence is designed to put the focus on the hearer - the American people. He does this at least two ways. He uses the powerful "rule of 3" to emphasize it is not politicians, Presidents, or candidates who must decide this, but "you" meaning "us."

Absolutely. The right to travel is grounded in three constitutional foundations: a right inherent in the union, the privileges & immunities clause, & the 14th Amendment. /1
“The word "travel" is not found in the text of the Constitution. Yet the "constitutional right to travel from one State to another" is firmly embedded in our jurisprudence. United States v. Guest, 383 U. S. 745, 757 (1966). . . .” /2
“Indeed, as Justice Stewart reminded us in Shapiro v. Thompson, 394 U. S. 618 (1969), the right is so important that it is "assertable against private interference as well as governmental action . . . a virtually unconditional personal right, guaranteed by the Constitution. .”/3

“We wouldn’t have to argue about whether the beatings are constitutional if you’d just submit to whatever the cops tell you to do.”
“We wouldn’t have to rule on whether it’s sex harassment or not, if you just wouldn’t wear those tight skirts.”

Virginia has an election Nov 2. VA has elections on "off" years because VA thinks it is special. Now, I live in VA but I don't like VA. I grew up in Mountain MD & I like it there much better but I love a man who wants to live in VA. So, this thread is about voting info for Nov./1
The General Election is on November 2, 2021

The Offices on the ballot are:
Lieutenant Governor,
Attorney General,
House of Delegates,
some local offices (varies by locality).

The first day of in-person early voting at local voter registration offices is Friday, September 17, 2021.

The deadline to register to vote, or update an existing registration is Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

To make my position on resignation clear:

US Presidents should resign for personal misconduct or mental/physical impairment, NOT policy failures. We vote our leaders in & out.

This is because we’re a republic w/representative democracy, NOT a parliamentary democracy.

Unelected top officials are an entirely different issue. They can absolutely be required by leadership or public pressure to resign for policy failures.

Presidents can, of course, also be impeached, under the standards that apply to impeachment.

I think it is clear that - at a minimum - there is a serious question about Biden’s physical & mental fitness to be POTUS. Our other leaders need to be demanding answers on that issue - now, before the next crisis hits. /3

So, it's very unclear exactly what Kevin McCarthy is complaining about with this statement. The Jan6 Cmte so far has made document requests to federal agencies & to social media platforms - not phone companies - for their own records, not customer records yet . . . /1
. except for 1 request asking for customer information already shared w/law enforcement. Otherwise, they're asking for algorithms, policies, decisions, etc. There's no law against asking companies to voluntarily give their own info. Twitter's request is👇:january6th.house.gov/news/press-rel…
They either will or they won't give the info voluntarily, & if they don't, the Cmte can send a subpoena later if it chooses to do so. Folks have asked me if this Cmte has subpoena power, & it does. It's procedures can be found here: january6th.house.gov/about /3
