Good afternoon! In anticipation of a visit from President Biden, who will be in Long Beach later today there are about 20 pro-Recall / Larry Elder supporters and a small group of pro-Biden / Newsom supporters. Some verbal confrontation has already happened, this was sent to me.
One of the protestors says he’s here to give President Biden a “warm welcome,” and gave up his ticket in order to be with the small group for safety.
“John Lewis, we will fight to the bitter end but we will fight,” one pro-Biden/Newsom supporter says.
Long Beach Police Depaerment here now, taking statements and encouraging the pro-Newsom side that both sides should stay on their respective sides.
Situation is resolved- the masked gentlemen has promised to go back to his side. One man (unclear on what side or if he has a side) being given a ride away in LBPD cruiser; I’ll follow up on if escort or detainment later.
One sign hanging on a nearby house says “Hi Joe Friends / Healthcare Please”

I’m OTG at the UCLA Gaza Solodarity Encampment. A large group of pro-Israel demonstrators are around. One person from the encampment looks very hurt. Hundreds throughout the area.
Reports of fireworks being thrown towards the encampment. Seeing a plume of smoke (looks like just firework smoke for now) coming from near the encampment.
One person (I can’t say for sure which side he’s on) treating what appears to be a pepper spray injury.

Breaking: a group of pro-Palestine demonstrators have blocked the intersection of El Segundo and Continental in El Segundo, CA (Raytheon has buildings at this area)
Vehicles attempting to go in appear to be attempting entrance in another place for the time being.
I’m unclear on who, but some shoving from an employee at Raytheon towards some people who were near some graffiti over the Raytheon sign in front of their office in el Segundo, CA

Breaking: a lot of skateboarders have set fire to a police vehicle. Police calling unlawful assembly.
A motorcycle doing lots of wheelies. Cherokee and Hollywood. Police have less lethal and firefighters are on standby.
Skaters being told by an LAPD helicopter they need to leave eastbound. Hearing a dispersal order was called.

Unlawful assembly called as pro and anti trans group converging on Glendale. 5 minutes given. Incorrectly assigning a crespo zone.
Earlier: even the press is testy
Several large scale fights. One person arrested (at least). Right wingers multiple times clubbing, including one attempt at hitting me in the groin.

Glendale police seem to be surrounding the much smaller group of pro-LGBT folks.

Greetings! I’m in Los Angeles, where a group of about 40 are gathered regarding Takar Smith, who was killed during a mental health call by LAPD. LAPD alleges he had a knife over his head; protesters are calling that into question.

Do these folks wearing brown berets look familiar? All were in attendance in support of KDL at a recent city council meeting.

These are all members (or at least consistently around) the Brown Beret National Party in LA. *Not to be confused with the Aztlaneca Brown Berets in LA*
(More on the difference between the two a bit later but it’s very important to understand that they are not the same group)
