Last weekend, when the Proud Boys and other militia sorts were in town, someone assaulted the homeless encampment in Chapman Square.

Last night I visited and talked to seven people who were there, including one person who was hospitalized due to injuries. Here's what I found.
At approximately 3 AM on Sunday, August 8th, a white jeep carrying two men and one woman stopped around 4th and Main. They yelled insults to camp residents and appeared to be drunk. One of them dropped his phone while the driver floored it.
They parked at Terry Schrunk Plaza, got out, and began accosting people. Several residents gathered sticks and poles and attempted to fight back. According to one:

"They took turns, swapped back and forth. It looked like they'd fought together before."

if every dollar that currently goes to the DEA and drug enforcement went to provide serious addicts with free narcotics, we would all be safer and more secure
there are very few public policy suggestions I can make with more authoritative, evidence-based backing than "give addicts free narcotics"
petty theft will go down. homelessness will go down. overdoses will go down. Suicide will go down.

free heroin will protect more people than any number of drug cops

Politics is entertainment. War is entertainment. Terrorism is entertainment. Increasingly, ethnic cleansing and genocide is entertainment.

The sooner you accept this the easier it will be to take effective action.
During Cracked's heyday @JohnDiesattheEn explained our appeal by noting that learning new information provides your brain with a little dopamine hit.

It's a hold-over from our days as hunter-gatherers, foraging for food and tracking prey. Cracked made a lot of money this way.
But information doesn't have to be true to provide that dopamine hit. If you feel like you're learning something new, unraveling the secret truth behind society, your brain will reward you. Unreality is addictive.

i did not see a single push-up here
if you can't do a full push up there are all sorts of perfectly valid modified push ups you can do, and if you're 87 you get credit just for trying. But Cotton should be embarrassed for bragging about his shit push ups.
