Heads-up: Court hearing is beginning in Jan 6 case of Brian Mock
Mock's accused of multiple assaults vs police (One of which led to "excruciating pain" for officer), alleged threats vs ex-girlfriend, prior case of putting gun to kids' heads
He's pleaded NOT GUILTY.. standby
Feds tell the court they have made a plea offer (verbally) to Mock. More formal offer forthcoming, per prosecutor
Standby... Mock is now speaking. And says he has a series of complaints about prior proceedings
!! Jan 6 defendant Brian Mock (speaking virtually from DC jail) says this about feds: "I have found flat out lies, fraud.. at this point I can't prove all of it. This is not me being crazy, not me being some extremist"
Mock says in this instance he is representing himself pro se
Complaining about lack of access to "discovery" in his case
Mock joins the growing list of defendants seeking to defend him or herself in a Jan 6 case
Judge cautions him against this
Mock: "Right now I don't think I've been defended the way that I've asked to be defended"
Mock: "I've been in here (jail) almost 100 days. I'd like a fair detention to bring forward the evidence that I have.. I'm more than happy to represent myself."
"Nobody wants to sit in jail any longer than they need to... I never should've been here in the first place'
Mock asks for "new detention hearing"
Judge instructs him that he can't have a "new detention hearing", but would have to file a motion for bond review
A lawyer could've advised Mock as such
Mock says he wants court to move "as quickly as humanly possible" ... citing his time languishing in jail
Judge is demonstrating some patience listening to this argument ... and wants to set new hearing. Looks like no date is available til October, at soonest
Looks like judge is gonna nudge next hearing up to Sept 23 by staging an *in-person* hearing, to talk about whether Mock needs new lawyer or can/will represent himself
I'll be covering the hearing on the 23rd.

**Yet another accused OathKeeper who'll be working with the Justice Dept **
STANDBY: Donald Craighead is scheduled to appear in court this hour. Craighead, of California, is accused of having a machete in his pickup truck near Democratic National Committee headquarters yesterday. And police say the truck had a swastika image on it
Per court filings from prosecutors, Craighead told Capitol Police, "Why are you pulling me over when there are brown people hurting white people" ==>
Prosecutors' court filing says the machete in Craighead's truck had a 21-inch blade and was on his front dashboard
Right now: Defense for Ethan Nordean is again for arguing for his release from jail in Jan 6 case, saying family will put up $1 million bond. Defense has accused Feds of falsely suggesting bond $$ might be “dirty money” (lawyer argued same to me in series of emails)
Feds are arguing Nordean was conspirator. And they tell judge “minutes after he arrived at Capitol, he stormed the gates”
Prosecutors specify there are “hundreds of thousands” of video files that are now part of US Capitol riot investigation. That’s one reason it’s being called largest criminal investigation in US history
ALERT: US Capitol Police announce disciplinary actions against six officers for conduct on Jan 6. Nothing criminal per agency. News release linked here ==> uscp.gov/media-center/p…
US Capitol Police: “The six sustained cases should not diminish the heroic efforts of the United States Capitol Police officers. On January 6, the bravery and courage exhibited by the vast majority of our employees was inspiring”
USCP (more):
6 disciplinary cases -
•Three for conduct unbecoming
•One for failure to comply with directives
•One for improper remarks
•One for improper dissemination of information
Cleveland Meredith is pleading guilty to interstate communication of threats. Feds allege Meredith arrived late for Jan 6, but came w/ ammo and sent series of violent messages, including some threats toward Nancy Pelosi & DC Mayor Muriel Bowser
And “burn DC to the **** ground”
He’ll remain jailed til sentencing
Meredith drove from Colorado to dc. Planned to arrive by Jan 5 and attend rallies for trump. But didn’t make it til the night of 6th. Per plea deal
