A new hero/antihero is soon coming to Netflix's home page, and with that, a bit of history will be made.
Abubakr Ali has been tapped to star in the streaming service's newest show, 'Grendel,' making him the first Arab Muslim actor to have a lead role on a series based off a comic book. Ali will play Hunter Rose.
Rose, the main character in the Dark Horse Comics series, is 'a gifted fencer, writer and assassin as, seeking to avenge the death of a lost love, he goes to war with New York's criminal underworld, only to realize...why beat them, when you can join them?'
'Dreams do come true and I'm a mess,' Ali wrote in a post on his Instagram, in which he also mentioned the pigeonholing of the Muslim community in entertainment post-9/11.
'We could only either be the 'good Muslim,' or the terrorist. Never thinking the day would come, I always dreamt of someone like me being able to play the Batman roles, the Tarantino roles, the messy complicated antiheroes ... all I can say is alhamdulillah.'
The series has been ordered for 8 episodes.

Bridges continued that he is now double-vaccinated, adding, 'I heard that the vaccine can help folks with Long Haulers. Maybe that's the cause of my quick improvement.'

In a recent podcast interview with theSkimm, Dr. Anthony Fauci expressed support for mandating vaccines for any air travelers.

'I would support that,' Dr. Fauci said. 'If you want to get on a plane and travel with other people ... you should be vaccinated.'
According to a statement acquired by ABC News, the U.S. Travel Association says it supports the notion that people should get vaccinated before flying.
But the org maintains 'that there should be no mandatory vaccination requirement for domestic travel,' adding that 'such a policy would have an unfair, negative impact on families with young children who are not yet eligible to get the vaccine.'

Scientists have announced $15 million in funding for a project to combine woolly mammoth DNA with that of Asian elephants to create calves that can walk the Arctic tundra.
The funding was raised by new genetics and bioscience company Collasal, co-founded by Harvard Medical School professor of genetics George Church and tech entrepreneur Ben Lamm.
The project will start with either an elephant egg or skin cells from an Asian elephant, which can be converted into stem cells. The cells would then be modified to carry mammoth DNA for hair, fat layers, and cold-climate adaptations.
