Tommy Leep is the OG. He used to work at AngelList and brought me into this world and taught me everything. We went to HS together. Great investor, better human.
@JuliaLipton is basically everyone’s favorite twitter follow already, but I’ll just add some additional love. Nobody is more “in the know” than Julia Lipton, mainly because she works her ass off and everyone fights for her time and attention. Join: angel.co/s/awesomepeopl…
You may not know about Ashley Flucas because she is too busy crushing it. She doesn’t do twitter and doesn’t care about the dialogue on here. The NY Times took notice, so maybe you should too
@haddartha is an insanely fast riser in the angel space. He spent ~1yr helping me review deals, built his own dealflow pipeline, helped founders A TON, and when he was ready to 🚀 he did:
He’s newer to the game but his deals to date have all been 🔥
If you’re reading this, you already know @Lennysan.
I’ve learned more from Lenny on ways to evaluate a deal than from any other peer. Impressive, amazing human.
His syndicate is closed to non-Airbnb folk, so subscribe to his newsletter: lennysnewsletter.com
We’re in the early-innings here. Couldn’t be more excited for what is to come, cooperating with these 5 and the many other leads that I admire.
@packyM predicts, “I wouldn’t be surprised, for example, if we see more solo GPs forming Liquid Super Teams to compete to lead rounds soon, offering the increased surface area of their combined members as their point of differentiation.”
We’ll see what happens next…🤷♂️.
Oh, right...pics or it didn't happen...

1/ I’ve become the go-to guy for anyone starting a “tech mafia syndicate” -- and I’m not mad about it. Tech mafia syndicates are groups pulled together by current/former employees that invest together in startups where we think we can add value (all of us use @angellist).
@AngelList 2/ Early leaders from Airbnb, Pinterest, and Square have all asked me how it works. Since then, we’ve spoken at a conference together (shoutout @briannekimmel), done deals together (unannounced, excited to share soon!), and learned best practices from each other over dinners.
@AngelList@briannekimmel 3/ A thread on why we (the syndicate leads) are doing it. These are my thoughts alone, but I think my peers agree:
