Adding to the pile: Both the #ANCgov scandals today show a lack of understanding AND will to address our housing problems. We "solve" homelessness with housing options. We grow and renew our community with more housing. It benefits everyone. 1/4
To callously leave hundreds of houseless people with no amenities, while they are sleeping, and assume a smooth transition of an abrupt change in facility operator is possible, is wrong. It fails to perform a basic duty of government in a public facility. 2/4
To appoint a Chief Housing Officer with no actual experience in any aspect of the field of housing, at the same time calling for economic revitalization and "cranes in the sky," shows no real commitment to that goal, or even the concept of why housing is good for business. 3/4
Housing was our emergency before COVID, and it will be again "after." And to have both of these happen on the same day, as every day gets darker and another winter approaches, and as COVID continues to rip through our entire country. It's just injustice.

BUS PARADE! Celebrating the inaugural ride of new Route 85 with @ancpeoplemover! 🚏Downtown 🚌 🚏West Anc 🚌 🚏Loussac Library 🚌 🚏 Dimond Center Mall! #ANCgov
Also, this is definitely the cleanest city bus system I've used! And the best name "People Mover"
Like the old Route 36, Route 85 will head through Turnagain and serve part of West Anc that current routes don't serve.
(yes, I'm live tweeting a bus ride)
