In South Asia Women are
Robbed of rightful inheritance.
Lied to abt Islamic marital obligations (inlaw care)
Financially abused (their money controlled by men)
Unaware of marriage/divorce rights
Lied to about Islamic rules
Unwanted from birth
Uniquely banned from Masjids

These are all very serious oppressions even from even from an Islamic standpoint.
And one of the most important and effective ways to tackle these abuses is through education. Any honest person would concede that preventing access to education would make all these problem worse

So all those who are ok with women being banned from education are actually supporters of all these abuses only increasing. Frankly, they hate women and they hate even the basic rights Islam gave women, and they have no desire to see justice and good for Muslim women.

That’s why I believe deoband religious institutions are complicit in all the above listed Islamic abuses against women. Even if they technically concede rights (inheritance), the social measures they advocate for in their particular cultural milieu, only entrenches the abuses.

This sneering upon women’s education comes from certain hardliners in the deoband movement who absolutely scoff at women learning. I know many of them personally. Not only secular education btw, I know those who are adamant against women’s higher religious learning as well

They are complicit in these Islamic rights being withheld from women, and all the culturally specific abuses and exploitation of women in the region.
Because banning the education of girls will make all these areas of abuse worse and they know that.

More rampant regional issues that lack of education will exacerbate:
Millions of girl babies aborted or abandoned as newborns
Blatant favoritism to sons in household, disrespect of daughters
Largescale exploitation of illiterate women (servants etc)
Divorced women shunned
