Humans used to mainly fight over religion but now it is all about information. Who has the right "facts" or best sources.

We live in the information age. The time in human history where we have the most information at our fingertips tips but because of fear and a desire for domination and control (often based on religious ideals) we are rendering the most crucial information useless.

Just as religious "Belief" in the past has been unable to engage any kind of logic or curiosity and has traumatized millions through power and control structures based on shame so to will this distrust of "facts."

In the past we looked to science and the scientific process with comfort and yes, sometimes science gets it wrong but it has self correcting mechanisms that course correct for those errors. That's the beauty of the scientific process.

Now politics has weaponized information, yes, on all sides. But when you look deeper I believe it is still religious ideals that pave the way for war in this arena. It is still humanities propensity to over engage emotion and under engage logic that drives this.

If your "beliefs" are treated as "fact" and you distrust the very system designed to sort, categorize, and study information (science) you will continue to perpetuate trauma in society.

If the facts aren't facts and beliefs are King then truly we as a species are fucked.
