We will not be at war with Boko Haram forever. The insurgency in itself is DEAD. What we have are marauding criminal gangs and enterprises carrying out criminal activities like robbery,

..abduction for ransome under the name of "terrorism". They carry out criminal activities and get rewarded with media notoriety.

This level of notoriety is in itself addictive. They dont even bother pretending to be fighting for a cause anymore. No manifesto, no objective

..just sensless attacks because of the media notoriety that comes with it. Once in a while they hit pay dirt, attacking military formations. It doesnt matter if hours later they are flushed out, so long as it made it headline news its victory for them.

Their goal is not to create a Republic. They know its impossible.
They just hit targets ofopportunities and defenceless civilians and stay relevant, and hope to hit it big someday with the likes of Sheikh Gumi playing terrorist advocate.

The prospect of immense wealth gives terrorists a reason to continue fighting. Innocent civilians are their key to a life of undeserved wealth and has such they are now waging unrestricted war on the civilian populace. Those who advocate for them have blood on their hands.

The religious cleric Sheikh Gumi has been quite for months. But when demoralized banditd began taking in unbearable casualties and surrendering by the thousands, Sheikh Gumi burst into the scene again,encouraging bandits to hold the forte while he plays the "its not fair" card.

Condems the military and demand millions of tax payers money as compensation for bandits.

Governments all over come to the negotiating table when military victory becomes unattainable. Its one thing for the Sheikh to advocate for Amnesty as a means to stop the shedding of

..innocent blood. It is malicious, but at least he can play the "bringing an end to the bloodletting" card in theory.

But when the enemy is on the verge of capitulation, its members demoralized and traumatized, Sheikh Gumi comes burst into the scene, condemns the military

..offensive and declares

"BANDITS ARE GOING NO WHERE"

..then Sheikh Gumi has become a national security threat. The mass surrender of bandits reduced to a trickle when Gumi began to publicly condem the military

..offensive an demand Amnesty. This is fuel for them not to lose hope but to continue the slaughter of innocent civilians.

Shiek Gumi is getting addicted to the fame and attention he is getting. He has creating his own brand. Everybody wants to be recognized as an activist.

He is back with his antics again today.

What you are seeing is a man justifying the murder of innocent civilians. He shows a complete lack of empathy for the victims but instead calls the barbarous bandits victims and tries to blackmail the government with vieled threats, pointing to attacks on soft targets as proof

Sheikh Gumi wants to impress upon us that a bunch of cowards, who rather than face the military choose to engage civilians who cannot defend themselves, has the capability to bring Africa's largest economy, largest military with a population of 200+ million to its knees

and the only way bandits will have mercy on Nigeria is for the government to pay them hundreds of millions of naira in Amnesty. Saying it is not every conflict that has a military solution.

Ladies and gentleman. What you are seeing is a morally bankrupt man who has seared his concience for money and fame. It takes mental depravity to ask victims of banditry to show sympathy to their plight and reward them with money. There are millions of Nigerians

..graduates who live hand to mouth after spending resources and years at the university. These terrorists have denied countless kids their right to an early education by targeting schools, abducting female students and giving them out in marriage, or as suicide bombers

Thanks to Gumis tantalizing offer of wealth, these bandits have carried out acts of morbid depravity and cruelty in an attempt to shock the President to the negotiating table.

I recently saw a footages someone sent to me on WhatsApp. The first few minutes showed dozens

kidnapped victims, most of them couldnt have been older than 12 years old. In their midst were some men, presumably teachers or staffers from a school they attacked. Bound hands behind their back sitting on the floor. I expected some masked figure to start making demands.

instead i regretted ever watching that footage. One by one these people were hacked to death. Not shot. Hacked with matches one by one. I saw just about 10 seconds of and with trembming hands promptly deleted.

I got a whiff of why war veterans sometimes kill themselves or suffer PTSD. I was traumatized by that 10 seconds clips for weeks. I self medicated with alcohol to numb the trauma. You cannot unsee it. Its a different kind of trauma that cannot be adequately described in words.

Those were peoples children. These are the people the cleric Sheikh Gumi is advocating for and audaciously demand sympathy from Nigerians for their plight.

Sheikh Gumi says he has access to information. Isnt it time for an appointment with the DSS concerning that information?

More depressing is the fact that the Nigerian media is fast becoming the official propaganda machinery of terrorism in Nigeria. They disseminate terrorist propaganda, allowing terrorist sympathizer Sheikh Gumi on their platform to spew hate, giving him recognition as a brand.
