Their is a fine line between doing some research vs too much research.
Start executing after doing some research.

If you are thinking of an ambitious project think of how you can break it down to side projects.
Think about creating some content like a blog or a video or a landing page for that idea.
If you can't create then curate content or build a community.
If you can't create then curate content or build a community.
Focus on how you can execute and ship something usable in 4 weeks to see if you get some attention.
If yes go ahead and keep building on the idea else look for more ideas.
