I helped a wandering man out of a ‘gutter’ that he fell into last night, I didn’t know who he was until he dusted himself and started speaking one of the most amazing English I’ve heard.
He is a retired professor, begging for money to eat, he looked lost and my heart sunk.
I asked him, “Sir, what do you want?” he said he’s cash strapped and he doesn’t have any money to eat.
I gave him some money and asked him to wait for the food to be ready, then he started narrating his experiences (whether true or not I can’t state categorically for now)
Apparently, he started life very well, he lived the vibrant part of his whole life abroad (teens-60+), got married to a white lady, thought he was going to spend the rest of his life there, something happened and he lost everything, as he emphasized “EVERYTHING”
His 40 year old daughter won’t even see him, he was all alone.
Knowing he had nothing left and no one else, he returned back to Nigeria to look for his parents’ house. His parents were dead, he doesn’t know any of his family members, most are dead anyway, cos he’s 70+.
I didn’t pick some of his key points in detail because I was tired too. But I remember asking him if there’s something else that can be fixed, he said nothing but he has some regrets... The most depressing one being that he never invested in Nigeria because he thought...
...nothing could make him return to Nigeria to live here. Now he’s a wanderer, warning people of the dangers of living life recklessly without caution with some brilliant eloquence. He also moved around with a file which contained all his means of identification.
They brought the food, I thanked him for the time and he walked away aimlessly until he faded from my sight.
I made my way home thinking of everything, especially the last line.. “When I was your age, I never thought I’d beg anyone for food ever in my life, life humbled me”
Some may ask if he was drunk and/or high... No, he wasn’t drunk or high on any substance to the best of my knowledge, he wore a well ironed cloth with awolowo cap, a tidy shoe and nice glasses.
He mentioned his name to me but I was too tired to grasp it.
This is a true life event that happened yesterday 20/09/2021 at Quantum Bar inside Cultural Center.
It’s important to note that this is not a thread intended to demonize anyone’s life’s choices. I’m just relaying a story the way I heard it, or the way I thought I heard it.

And if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God.
Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field.
Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle,
...the increase of your herds and the young of your flock.
Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

A young man lost his mother last Friday. On Monday, he went to his neighborhood to get his wife and daughter.
He drove up a slope and on his way down, his brake failed, the car then ran into a woman in her shop.
Angry mob arrived and they beat him so badly that he lost an eye.
This guy and his late mom grew up in the neighborhood, he is well known, but that didn’t stop the people at Sabo’s Jungle Justice because someone said the woman had died.
They broke his car windshield, dragged his wife on the floor and threatened to kill him.
They didn’t care for the woman who was injured, they left her on the floor right there as the others attacked the driver. They hit him countless times in the head and on the left eye with planks that blood began to gush out of the eye.
3. Mbappe knows he is his own chance of winning the UCL, he is not like some players who will send text messages begging Neymar to come back so they can win the UCL. You know the players who promise and fail, as they ghost in the latter stages of the UCL KO phase.
4. Staying for longer means he’d sigh a 5-6 year contract, which means his career most likely end at PSG.
Mbappe is not stupid like some players like Harry Kane and another I don’t want to mention who would sign a contract extension because of money and end up tied.

Nigeria really progressed under Buhari.
6 years ago, Our integrity messiah couldn’t afford a presidential campaign ticket because there was no money on grand.
6 years of growth📈
Adieu mama Hajiya Fati Koko.
We won’t forget you donated your life savings of N1,000,000 to the Buhari campaign. That moment of selflessness ushered us into this period of so much winnings, so much that we can use N650,000 phones and $600 ipads as souvenirs in a wedding.
Mr Suleiman Hashimu
We will never forget your 750km walk to usher in this new era.
We are proud of you. Even though dailypost posted that you regretted the trek, we still see you as one of our heroes.
“Araba” was borne out of anger and a charge for violent revenge.
There was jubilation right after the Jan 66 coup, but a moment of damning realization of the sectional composition of the Jan 66 plotters changed everything. 1/
Agunyi Ironsi contributed a lot to his own downfall too.
-He refused to address the accusation that the coup was sectional.
- He didn’t establish a broad-based government, his small crew were incidentally Igbo.
-inspire of a one year freeze on military promotions, he...

During the 1954 constitution conference in London, Obafemi Awolowo (AG party) tabled a motion to the effect that a right of secession (secession clause) should be enshrined into the constitution of the emerging Nigerian nation to allow any part of the... 1/
..emergent nation to opt out of Nigeria, should the need arise.
The NCNC through Nnamdi Azikiwe vehemently rejected the motion saying that once we have a federation, we are indivisible and perpetual.
That is, “Nigeria’s unity is non-negotiable”.
2/
The expression— “The indivisibility and perpetuity of the federation” popped out from there. They also went further by saying to Secede from the Newly Formed Nigeria would amount to Treason.
Due to sustained opposition from NCNC and NPC, Awolowo and the AG were forced..
