Anton is absolutely right about the absence of right-wing culture networks and why the left so thoroughly dominates the arts 
The right has no idea the extent to which culture is subsidized by left wing largesse. They only see the end points. Hollywood and TV but neglect the expansive infrastructure of endowments and fellowships, often laundered via academia, that supports artistic development
The right laughs at the local theater showcasing a POC interpretive dance troupe sponsored by the Linda and Eugene Rosenblatt Endowment for the Arts, and it is a joke, but it’s not a waste of money for the Rosenblatts who’s political beliefs are instantiated by those performances
The right also doesn’t see that the Rosenblatts are funding a hundred other such projects, which will never earn a dime, but helps build out an entire community of creatives and creative aspirants and gives them succor and purpose. It gives their politics life in other words.
A single playhouse in a single city devoted to, even implicitly, the production of right wing art is impossible to imagine. Let alone the kind of funding networks to sustain the tens of thousands of go nowhere artistic careers it takes to actually make something
Anton discusses treating art like VCs treat startups in the hope of finding a unicorn, which I guess would mean a major novelist or filmmaker or musician maybe, and while that would be good, even that misses the point…
…The existence of a mass of artists and writers doing their work, politically aligned even tacitly, is a good unto itself. It is the whole point. The right doesn’t need a culture of bestsellers or blockbusters. It simply needs a culture to exist at all. It needs people.
