I have a trans family member and I couldn’t be prouder of them.
Like every trans person they have experienced terrifying bullying and rejection - and they are only 16.

Transphobia - in the name of whatever ridiculous excuse its proponents advance - is utterly repellent to me.
That so many of its proponents feel they are being “cancelled” for their odious attempts to deny the personal reality of their fellow human beings is astonishing.
If you were openly racist or homophobic and your employer sacked you - or your publisher dumped you - nobody would come to your defence.
Should be the same for transphobia.
If you can’t see how odious, inhuman and corrosive your anti-trans views are, you need to look harder in that mirror and ask yourself “what the f*** has this really got to do with me?”
I have faced discrimination all my life. I was illegal at birth and until 1997 could be arrested for giving my phone number to someone.
I’ve lost clients and work *simply* because I’m gay.
That trans people are now the target of the same hatred appals me.
The idea that my wonderful niece/nibling is facing the vileness of transphobia, including from some people I once thought of as heroes, disgusts me.
I stand with trans people bc it’s the right thing to do and I’m proud of it.
If you’re “cancelled” for spouting your anti/trans cr*p or agreeing with those who do, I have zero sympathy.
You’re on the wrong side of history, and the wrong side of humanity.
