The grand jury really ratcheted up the charges with this new indictment.
And the prosecution's investigation apparently considerably advanced since the guilty plea and cooperation of their alleged co-conspirator Josiah Colt.
The new charges detail their chilling alleged communication before Jan. 6, a day Sandlin supposedly believed Trump would decide to "cross the Rubicon."
A frequent pro-Trump fantasy around the time, the phrase refers to Julius Caesar action that led to him becoming a dictator.
Asked by Sandlin if he was "down for danger," DeGrave replied “Im bringing bullet proof clothing" before answering with a simple "yes," prosecutors say.
Prosecutors say they:
* sought shooting training.
* talked about "shipping guns" to Sandlin's home.
* brought pistols with them to Maryland on their drive to D.C. — before leaving those weapons in the hotel "for the camera's sake" because firearm possession is a felony there.
Along with the reference to "crossing the Rubicon," Sandlin was also quoted referring to " the boogaloo Jan. 6."
The "boogaloo" is a word used by antigovernment extremists to refer to a second U.S. Civil War.
DeGrave is quoted in the new indictment telling Colt inside the Senate chamber to “take laptops, paperwork, take everything.”
Colt's the one seen dangling from the Senate balcony, who pleaded guilty is and cooperating with the feds. lawandcrime.com/u-s-capitol-si…
Reminder: Another Jan. 6 defendant has been accused of stealing a laptop from Pelosi's office.
The new indictment suggests Colt's cooperation has been productive—and exposed previously unknown connections between separate cases.
