I am very curious what Spanberger thinks of the redistricting commission in Virginia. Probably very unhappy because Dems could have easily shored her up. Who knows how the commission will draw the district but it could be unfriendly to her.
If she loses, she probably joins the Biden admin in a national security position.
She would have been an interesting gubernatorial candidate.

In a state that voted for Biden by almost 14%, Republicans have a shot at tying the house delegation on this map. How does that accurately reflect the state's partisanship?
4-4 would be an accurate representation of Colorado circa 2012 but this isn't 2012 anymore.
One commissioner is expressing her confusion as to why Jefferson County is split between four districts on the new map.

One of the Democrats who spoke in favor of the bill could be a candidate for the new 6th District.
State Rep. Teresa Alonso Leon is someone to watch. She would be a strong contender for the seat.

This is at least the fourth redistricting cycle in a row where the Connecticut legislature has been unable to pass a redistricting map. For whatever reason, the Dem legislature has yet to make a ballot initiative to lower the threshold to a simple majority.
I would guess the 1980's map was also not drawn by the legislature but my 1984 almanac does not go into detail.
Yes, you read that right. The legislature has not passed a map since at least the 1980's but likely earlier than that.
