Joe Biden's War on the Middle Class - the war American socialism must win, before it can advance to the next stage - is a multi-pronged attack. Here are two of the prongs: reducing the economic freedom of the Middle Class and making it more dependent on government.
Believe me, Biden and his handlers have no intention of bungling the War on the Middle Class like they bungled Afghanistan. They will not retreat an inch, not with final victory in sight thanks to the Wuhan coronavirus. American socialism must defeat the middle class to advance.
How do you defeat the middle class of a huge and prosperous nation? Casting them into abject poverty with one massive economic attack doesn't work, because the middle class combines economic AND political strength - it's why socialists hate and fear them so much.
The middle class has to be weakened and subjugated carefully, with relatively subtle attacks from different angles, or it can fight back at the ballot box. It must be stabbed in the back and bled out slowly and quietly, not confronted head-on.
The core element of this strategy is to keep the superficial qualities of middle-class life in place for as long as possible, but slowly hollow them out while making the middle class more dependent upon the State. The Left pretends to be your friend while it slides the knife in.
One tactic is to reduce the economic freedom of the middle class through inflation and taxes. Make everything more expensive, reducing the buying power of the middle class while its income is seemingly undisturbed. Dollars are choices. Smaller dollars, smaller choices.
The middle class begins losing its fusion of economic and political power - its ability to disobey and resist the commands of socialism - when its buying power and economic freedom diminish. People with fewer options are easier to control. They'll be content with less.
The other prong of the attack is to dynamite the paths to independent prosperity - the ladders into true middle class freedom for low-income people, the roads to wealth that middle-class folks can follow with hard work and sound investments. Upward mobility frustrates socialism.
The way to smash those ladders out of poverty and blow up the roads to wealth is to attack the next income level ABOVE the middle class, the Evil Rich. The beauty of the War on the Middle Class is that the true targets don't realize they're under attack.
True middle-class independence, achieved without State welfare dependency, flows from the next level up. Rich people give you jobs, especially the kind you take out expensive student loans to get. Rich people invest in your enterprises and become your customers.
Giant welfare programs "paid for" by taxing the hell out of job creators and the investment class is a perfect attack on the Middle Class. It's like defeating a castle under siege by burning all the surrounding crops. Upward mobility will be annihilated. Classes will freeze.
The goal is to make middle class life something the State distributes - and can take away from the disobedient - not something people achieve on their own, through free choice and the healthy pursuit of opportunity. You will be given things, and have fewer choices.
At this point, giving the State more money and power is delusional insanity. What the hell more does anyone need to see, after the pandemic debacles and the endless Big Government disasters of the decades before it? Our top priority should be taking money AWAY from the State.
But instead, the Democrats want to take more of your money, reduce the value of the money they let you keep, and suck the blood out of the free-market mechanisms that could help the poor and middle class prosper as they rebuild a shattered economy. This is by design.
Socialists are the greediest people on the face of the Earth, greedy beyond the wildest dreams of the robber barons of old, but it's not just their lust for money and power guiding them at this turning point in American history. It's a very deliberate war strategy.
It's the freedom and independence of the middle class they hate, not your cars, houses, and retail consumption - despite all the venom they spew about those things through left-wing cultural products. Anti-consumerist rants are usually a smokescreen for the assault on freedom.
You can keep your goodies, for a little while longer at least, until the guaranteed failure of socialism destroys the economy that produces them. What the Dems want to eliminate is your CHOICES, your independence, the link between your economic freedom and your voting strength.
"This bloated spending bill is free because we'll pay for it by raising your taxes" is the battle cry of a final doomsday charge against the Middle Class. No upper class = no middle class = no economic freedom = no disobedience. Everyone will know their place, forever. /end

The hostility of globalists to borders is a key element of their strategy for elevating authoritarian power beyond the reach of mere voters.

Erase borders, destroy the nation-state, and you sever the last cords of duty and accountability binding the Ruling Class to its people.
Of course there's a lot of money in mass migration, and left-wing parties love importing new welfare-state clients to serve as loyal voting blocs, but the big picture issue is the war against national identity. No nations means zero accountability.
Notice the "how dare you?" tenor of the Ruling Class when it deigns to discuss borders, immigration, citizenship, and migration with the unwashed masses. This is not an issue they think you should have any control over. You should really even be allowed to discuss it.

Has a single piece of false information peddled by major media outlets about the fake "Haitians whipped by Border Patrol" story been labeled as disinformation by our Big Tech overlords? Has a single account been flagged or suspended for spreading it?
This is exactly the kind of propaganda that disinformation labeling SHOULD be used for, if we're going to have it at all. Verifiably false and deliberately misleading posts are being used to attack the American political system and the rule of law.
People are being mercilessly defamed by the false story, and this particular spew of Fake News has a very good chance of getting people injured or killed. It's a textbook example of dangerous disinformation. Aggressive flagging and banning by Big Tech would help slow it down.

Interesting coda to the marriage wars: there's no longer much doubt that declining birth rates are closely linked to the decline of traditional marriage. That's not how it was "supposed" to work, according to all the fashionable social theories.

mother.ly/life/news/news…
We could argue over the timing of cause and effect: did traditional marriage lose its appeal because marriage was redefined, or did it become politically possible to redefine marriage because it had lost much of its power and appeal among young people?
But whatever the root causes, the results are undeniable. After decades of mad-scientist social tinkering, we've got studies piling up that prove what our grandparents knew all along. It turns out that tradition and common sense were right after all.

Milley's treason is a landmark in the evolution of the Great Reset, which began with the formation of the Deep State: the notion that a sizable amount of government power must be protected from voters. As I like to say: Democracy rebooted with an authoritarian core.
The totalitarian Left passionately believes there should be an elite core of government bureaucrats, with correct ideology and Party credentials, who are not subject to the whims of voters. There are issues of such importance that idiot voters cannot be allowed to interfere.
Of course, that list of issues that should not be subject to the will of the American electorate grows longer all the time. The Great Reset is a whole new political operating system, not one of the authoritarian patches the Left has been uploading every few years.

Vaccination rates were damaged in the long run by misleading people into thinking the vaccines prevent coronavirus transmission, rather than reducing the severity of infection. (Yes, that impression was definitely given, no matter how much revisionists claim nobody ever said it.)
Overselling the vaccines goosed inoculations early on, making for some nice headlines, but in the long run it hindered the effort, because it gave the public more reason to distrust the authorities and question the value of vaccination.
It was profoundly demoralizing to be told, "Never mind, we're still in permanent panic mode, we'll still have restrictions, you still have to wear masks, this will probably never be over." Earlier this year, everyone up to Biden was pushing vaccines as the ticket to normal life.

If you're applauding someone losing their job because they privately expressed a political idea you disagree with, you are either implicitly conceding that YOU could be punished the same way by those who disagree with you... or you are a totalitarian and flirting with fascism.
Imagine what would happen if a company fired someone because they privately expressed support for the transsexual agenda, and some of the company's business partners complained. The howls of Hitlerism would be deafening, the repercussions severe. Government would step in.
The correct term for a system in which only political views in line with the ruling party's ideology can be expressed without fear of punishment is totalitarianism. If corporate muscle is employed by the ruling party to punish dissidents outside the law, it is fascism.
