Thank you @RassBariaw for your amplification of this discussion. IMO this is a particularly insidious piece of disinformation. And I note it is written by an anonymous author. Who claims to require protection.
@RassBariaw The decision to obscure the author I surmise, is made with an intention to elevate the sense of fear among its target audience - educated Ethiopians incl. diaspora members who are already predisposed towards TPLF narratives which consistently blame all Ethiopia's woes on Abiy.
The publisher of the piece is effectively the well known TPLF apologist, South African Alex de Waal, of the anachronistically named "World Peace Foundation". Though it is odd that his association is not on the "About Us" page of the website.
The distinguished Alex de Waal is a masterful propagandist and probably the most effective media ally that the fascist TPLF clique have on their side, as his arguments are presented in a manner which makes them seem reasonable and informed.
Alex de Waal's output can be seen via his two publishing projects @africaarguments (africanarguments.org) & @WorldPeaceFdtn, hosted by Tufts University and associated with its prestigious @FletcherSchool for International Affairs. sites.tufts.edu/wpf/
@africaarguments @WorldPeaceFdtn @FletcherSchool I have little doubt that Alex De Waal believes the things he says, and it is very clear that he has a large impact through media appearances and quotes. @Qnie_Addis's thread on his recent work is a good place to find out more.
The good Dr Addis's (@Qnie_Addis) description of De Waal as the Napoleon of #InformationLaundering is apposite. His approach is convincing because it appears so reasonable and academic. I expect much of the output of his publications is sound - but not that on the TPLF.
Shortly we can look more closely at the anonymous piece recently shared by Crisis Group's @wdavison10, I imagine as a result of a request from De Waal. But first we will look at another recent @WorldPeaceFdtn article. sites.tufts.edu/reinventingpea…

This short thread shows how cyclonic storms in the tropical Atlantic affect/drive the weather in Europe. Major Hurricane Sam is bottom left.

Its outflows - atmospheric moisture created and projected into the jet streams 11-18kms up - are already reaching Western Europe.
Major Hurricane Sam is forecast to remain a hurricane until it reaches very northerly latitudes (in line with the France), and then continue as a strong extra-tropical cyclonic storm through Tuesday-Wednesday next week. Image
This animation shows the past 24 hours over Western Europe. The jet-stream outflows from U.S./Canadian storms and Hurricane Sam can be seen arriving at the bottom. From the north cold northerly jet-streams are colliding with these over the UK.

Cyclone Gulab (Rose) is back in the model, and is now forecast to make landfall in Oman as a Severe Cyclonic Storm on Sunday. ImageImage
Here's a view Gulab 19 hours ago. Current scenarios in both leading cyclonic models the ECMWF (European) and GFS (US) maintain the view that the cyclone will not intensify or bring significant rain across the Arabian Peninsula.
Here are the latest ECMWF and GFS rainfall solutions. The GFS has a more northerly path taking the cyclone into the #UAE, while the ECMWF has returned to a two cyclone scenario.

There remains a lot of uncertainty. ImageImage

Dear @UN_Spokesperson @StephDujarric, your Excellency @antonioguterres, USG/ERC @UNReliefChief,

@AbanegaTol perfectly expresses it in his reply to Stephane’s tweet here below.

You have a problem with troublemakers in your midst.

Thread follows… Image
And herein lies your problem, and Ethiopia’s, the troublemakers in chief, @JoeBiden @PowerUSAID @AmbRice46 and @SecBlinken.

Call a meeting bring it on. And let us see what Kenya has to say about its recent un sanctioned illegal bombing of Somalia.

@UNGAEthiopiaCrisis
The underlying problem here is US exceptionalism. It has to end. It has corrupted the global order and 1000s of innocent Ethiopian civilians have paid the price of this corruption in blood 🩸 and tears 😭.

It appears senior UN officials are being chucked out of Ethiopia en masse. Something bust have seriously upset the Ethiopian Govt.
Five so far. I wonder if there will be any more? I also wonder if this is something to do with the trucks fiasco.
Clearly the UN was sitting on its evidence of the trucks not returning for some time. PMO's @BilleneSeyoum was repeatedly saying that there was a problem with UN accredited aid organisations not complying with paperwork.

I'm rather surprised that this storm, remnants of Severe Cyclone Gulab re-emerging over the Arabian Sea after transiting India does not appear to be a designated storm. Looks like a cyclone to me.
Here's a 12 hour animation of rains over Ethiopia which are part of the same monsoon burst, which to me looks like it is stronger than what was forecast in the major models.
Here's an animation showing two cyclonic systems over India yesterday, The one on the left is Gulab (Which means "Rose" in Hindi. The one on the right is designated as Invest 98B.

An old story. But relevant to the intention to reappoint @DrTedros, unopposed to head WHO. This on top of serious allegations made against him during his time as a senior member of an oppressive US sponsored proxy TPLF Govt. in Ethiopia.

#SayNoToDrTedros
And then there is @DrTedros’s active support of a war of secession against his native Ethiopia, one which is destabilising a massive region, and which has involved repeated crimes against humanity, massacres, use of child soldiers, systemic looting and destruction of livelihoods.
Does anyone have a screenshot of @DrTedros’s “Pride” tweet in response to the @nytimes triumphant report about the TPLF offensive which took place in June under the cover of Ethiopia’s first free and fair elections?
