Folks, #dataviz community plus everyone struggling with map production & who have not yet found out how easy it can be to create great responsive charts and maps:
Today the @datawrapper team launched a new data upload for maps.
The new map data upload for @datawrapper is a big step. Yes, took a time. But now it is f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s.
What is better?
First, data upload is much faster.
Second, the workflow is more direct, less clicks to a result.
There is more...
You can now connect to a data source, such as a .csv somewhere on a server or a Google sheet.
This was a feature used h-e-a-v-i-l-y in chart marking during the corona pandemic. Now this is possible for maps, too. blog.datawrapper.de/better-data-up…
Still more...
Matching your data to a map got much, much easier, too. This is magic.
Because in the past you often had to first find the keys for a given map, align them with your dataset, etc. This is a general problem.
Now much easier to handle. Much easier.
One of the big assets of Datawrapper are the 2500 base available.
@Datawrapper now has auto-detection combined with the option for manual corrections directly in the table. Big step forward. Heavy users will know.
