The name @ArapapabySanta is synonymous with classy fashion. She has scaled the heights and the world. How has she remained relevant and around for the past 20 years?
I can still remember @ArapapabySanta strutting elegantly when she would visit her sister Ms.Jane who was an art teacher at school in UMSSN. We would stare in awe.
Seeing her scale the heights in fashion years later, many of us were not surprised.
As a refugee in South Sudan, with her family and mother, @ArapapabySanta reflects on a season of unrest with gun shots,bombs, lots of uncertainty and being fed by the UN.
Things got tough for her mum who handed her over to her Grandpa who unfortunately passed on.
Reunited with her family, @ArapapabySanta realized her dream early on in life. Her mum had a sewing machine and Santa loved to sketch and it got her into trouble topped with kiboko.
She was a rapper in school, would perform and was active in several activities.
To pursue her passion,@ArapapabySanta opted to separate herself from the noise which included labels starting from school, negativity towards her passion.
She rented a kazigo and paid for this through doing odd jobs including at the Casino. #360Mentor
She excelled at her job and went the extra mile so got lots of tips from customers.
@ArapapabySanta makes mention of the rejection in some spaces to excellent workers and shares how herself suffered that. #360Mentor
A chance meeting with a lecturer at MUBS through one of her customers created an opportunity for @ArapapabySanta to study about business, project planning through business clinics and applied these in Arapapa
@ArapapabySanta explains that Arapapa means butterfly. She laid down values by which Arapapa would be run, was intentional on the fashion being bold, communicating about Uganda and was led by her vision which did not leave her. #360Mentor
@ArapapabySanta attributes alot of her success to God and believes in the universe aligning itself once you have clarity in your vision.
She believed in herself even when it was lonely and remained a life long learner.
To a young person thinking of getting into the multi million dollar business that fashion is,@ArapapabySanta encourages you to believe and believe and believe!!
She acknowledges that she herself benefitted from those who have walked the path before her.

@DNKibuuka , uses an analogy from a book by Adam Grant "Give and Take- Why Helping Others Drives Our Success" in which he categories people as givers, matchers and takers.
Givers burn out, matchers survive and takers are eventually thrown out.
While part of a team in Rwanda with Ericsson and working on smart cities, @edgarkasenene realized that 4G had started to grow and the value of data had started to drop because it was more available. #360Mentor
Consumption of data has also gone up and people have started looking for cheaper internet options.
@edgarkasenene volunteered for a role called Internet of Things(IOT)and went on an executive programme, getting obsessed with changing the way of work from the old to the new.
