Think the dietary guidelines have anything to do with health? You'd be mistaken.
For the past 100 years, the narrative surrounding a 'healthy' human diet has been hijacked.
THREAD
There is a silent pandemic of obesity, metabolic disease, autoimmunity and chronic lifestyle diseases.
This has come about DESPITE the freest access to
- food
- pharmaceuticals
- intervention medical/surgical techniques
in the history of the Human species.
What happened?
The foods that facilitated our evolution from lower primates to bipedal hunters with the largest relative brain size of any mammal have been demonized.
From the late 1890s, Ellen G. White and the SDA Church actively promoted vegetarianism and discouraged meat consumption.
They believed animal foods encouraged the ‘sinful’ tendency of masturbation and promiscuous sexual expression.
John Harvey Kellogg was a devout SDA.
He made it his life’s mission to push nutrient-poor, grain-based foods on the masses through his breakfast cereal company.
Adventists would go on to found the American Dietetics Association and have significant sway on eating habits of US.
CRISCO BY PROCTOR & GAMBLE
In early 1920s Proctor & Gamble released a vegetable shortening product made of hydrogenated cottonseed oil
They marketed to housewives as a 'healthy alternative' to butter and lard
Their new 'edible' vegetable fat was simply a clever way to re-purpose industrial machine oil, a by-product of cotton production
It wasn't long before soy, corn, sunflower, safflower entered the American diet as Refined Plant Oils.
All are toxic.
ANCEL KEYS
In 1955 scientist Ancel Keys proposed the diet-heart or cholesterol hypothesis
His theory was that saturated animal fat, through its effect on blood cholesterol, was responsible for rising rates of heart disease
This hypothesis was based on poor quality epidemiological evidence and ignored a range contradictory findings
It was enough to convince the central planners that dietary cholesterol and saturated animal fat was inherently harmful and should be avoided
NIXON SHOCK
In 1971 the US effectively defaulted on its sovereign debt. President Nixon ended the redeemability of US currency for gold.
This sparked a period of high consumer price inflation, and the price of food skyrocketed.
Secretary of Agriculture Earl 'Rusty' Butz was tasked with the mission to lowering the price of food.
He did this by instituting subsidies for growing corn, forcing small family farms to consolidate large industrial cropping operations
Food prices fell, but only because nutrient-dense animal foods like rib eye steaks were replaced with nutrient-poor processed grains.
High fructose corn syrup was produced in response to the massive oversupply of corn and became a ubiquitous food additive
AMERICAN DIETARY GUIDELINES
In 1977, the first version of what would become the American Dietary Guidelines was published, written by a vegetarian Adventist on behalf of Senator McGovern.
Unsurprisingly, it dictated a plant-based, high carbohydrate diet and low consumption of saturated fat.
Future guidelines were iterations on this obesogenic combination of low fat, grain-based eating.
Countries all over the world mimicked the US.
With time, the Dietary Guidelines had simply come to recommend consumption of foods that reflected the collective financial + ideological interests of
- Big Food
- Big Pharma
- SDA Church
STATINS
In 1990s, the rise of the statin class of medications added Big Pharma to the powerful corporate backers of the cholesterol hypothesis.
Statins are used for prevention of heart attacks. They inhibit the body’s natural synthesis of cholesterol.
But cholesterol is an essential molecule that sits in every cell, with many essential functions in the body.
And tho statins play a role in a specific patient population, most who have not had a heart attack do not benefit from statins above addressing lifestyle #RootCauses
Physicians promoting statins and the cholesterol hypothesis advised against the consumption of
- red meat
- eggs
- full fat dairy
And recommended replacing with polyunsaturated seed oils, that reduce serum cholesterol but also are highly inflammatory and highly harmful
PROPAGANDA OF BIG FOOD
Since the 1990s, multinational junk food and confectionery companies like
- Nestle
- Coca Cola
- Mars
- McDonalds
have employed various marketing campaigns that emphasized a ‘calories in, calories out’ model of obesity
They continue to use fake grassroots organizations like the Global Energy Balance Network to downplay the harms of soda and junk foods
Using slogans like ‘eat less, move more’.
ROUNDUP, GLYPHOSATE AND MONSANTO
In the late 1990s Monsanto genetically engineered Cotton to survive being sprayed with the herbicide RoundUp, chief ingredient glyphosate.
The goal was to spray the whole field, killing weeds but leaving the crop unharmed. They succeeded.
RoundUp resistance was soon bred into into corn, soybeans, canola allowing these food crops to be sprayed with Round-Up multiple times during a growing cycle.
Today almost all soy, corn and canola planted in the US are glyphosate-resistant genetically modified organisms (GMO)
Several obvious problems:
1. RoundUp and glyphosate are toxic, causing a range of human diseases, notably destruction of gut microbiota and cancers including lymphoma
2. RoundUp and glyphosate enter the food chain and contaminating human (processed) foods
Widespread use of industrial pesticides and herbicides on both GMO and non-GMO mono-cropping operations continues in the United States to this day.
Meaning foods like
- canola oil
- soy lecithin
- high fructose corn syrup
all contain glyphosate at biologically harmful doses.
THE ‘CARCINOGENICITY’ OF RED MEAT
In 2015 a WHO body declared red meat as a ‘probable carcinogen' based on the interpretation of literature by 22 ‘experts'
The decision was based on a range of poor quality epidemiological studies that couldn't delineate lifestyle confounders
Further reviews of the scientific literature have discredited the notion red meat is inherently harmful.
But the popular misconception remains that people should eat less red meat to be healthy
THE WEF’s GREAT RESET
In 2020, The World Economic Forum, group of un-elected bureaucrats, declared a global move to a plant-based diet as part of its ‘Great Reset’ plan
Made in partnership with grain and plant-based food manufacturers.
WEF are attempting to re-architect society in the interests of corporate profiteering and top-down control.
Diet is simply one facet of a plan to restrict the freedom of the individual and create a micro-managed society that serves the interests of the entrenched elite.
These are small selection of events that have shifted the dietary Overton Window away from nutrient-dense animal foods and towards processed plant foods.
Estranging people further and further from their ancestral nutrition.
There are many, many more including
- influence of the American Soybean Association
- animal rights movement
- Bill Gates and the rise of the fake meat industry
- environmental attack on ruminant agriculture.
I have coined the term Medical-Pharmacuetical-Agricultural-Complex #MPAC
in reference to the corporate beneficiaries of this deliberate, top-down effort (conspiracy?) to co-opt the mainstream narrative and alter consumption habits of the people
Like a child stealthily replacing a half-empty ice cream container back in the freezer, the mainstream medical establishment is increasingly admitting saturated fat does not contribute to heart disease or risk of heart attack... THREAD
This review article was recently published, and follows the 2019 Annals of Internal medicine meta-analysis which suggested low to no evidence of red meat contributing to cancer or heart disease.
Grassroots, community action is and always was the most meaningful and effective solution to an industrial food system making people sick and diabetic.
❌Refined foods made by multinational conglomerates
✅ nutrient dense animal foods from regenerative ranches
@modernTman's @beefinitiative project is helping you channel high quality animal foods straight from farm to your table
If you live stateside, attend the upcoming Food Intelligence summit in the home of regenerative agriculture- White Oak Pastures in Bluffton, Georgia
We have a very long way to go before widespread adoption of ancestrally appropriate diet and lifestyle reduces demand for healthcare...
For the foreseeable future, the health of the majority will continue decline with continued consumption of ultra processed foods, protein deficient plant-based diets, and repeated doses of outdated mRNA tech for a circulating cold virus.
There is an ageing population and a boomer generation who have spent the past 2 decades consuming seed oils as their primary fat source, addicted to sugar and carbs and dosed on statins.

What if I told you the reason health care is so expensive, inaccessible, and at times poor quality, is because of a LACK of competition?
Government intervention reduces free market competition, which would otherwise force hospitals, health services & physicians to compete for your business and provide you a better product...
Just like cafes, restaurants, gyms or any other business in the economy.
The more you understand, the harder it is to call this anything other than a multi-billion dollar scam orchestrated by Big Pharma and funded by the taxpayer.
@MaryanneDemasi It would almost be funny if it weren't so serious. Recommending the mass injection of young children with genetic material instructing their own cells to make a viral spike protein for no appreciable clinical benefit is a recipe for widespread iatrogenic harm.
@MaryanneDemasi It's a whole new level of grift from Pharma. Seems like they whipped together a steaming pile of 💩for research (under lower EUA burden of evidence) and pulled all the favors with captured govt. bureaucrats to get their product passed off as 'safe and effective'. Diabolical.
