The Congressional Progressive Caucus has a lot of members and has a lot of weight among the @HouseDemocrats. But they are not the reason @TheDemocrats hold the House majority.
Just like in Presidential Elections in which the only way a different party wins is when they take states away from the other party, the only way the House flips is when seats that are held by one party get won by the other party.
Nancy Pelosi is speaker because in 2018, Democrats won 43 seats that were formerly held by Republicans. Republicans won 3 seats that were formerly held by Democrats.
Of those 43 Democrats who won formerly Republican seats to give Dems control of the House, by my informal count, about **5** or so (give or take) are/were members of the Progressive Caucus.
There may be a lot of House Progressives. But they’re not the reason the Dems have power in the House in the first place.

Neither Presidential Elections or Control of Congress are de used in the areas of the country that always vote for one party or which adhere to one side of the ideological structure.
All of this is decided by places in the middle. And these voters don’t like extremes.
