Overview of @WithoutTheRope weekly AMA in the $STRONG Telegram ⬇️⬇️⬇️
$STRONG Q: what will the rewards for fantom and matic be ? What will they cost us ? $FTM $MATIC
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope That will be announced when we roll them out. It will likely look very much like Ethereum 1.0.
$STRONG Q: Good Morning David, Has the Strongblock team discussed the Infrastructure Bill and are plans in place if voted through to keep Strong - Stronger & decentralized?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Yes, we’ve discussed it. Right now, it’s all up in the air. It’s not productive to plan for something until it’s actually going to happen. We do have plans for progressively becoming more decentralized.
$STRONG Q: There is undoubtedly going to be an investigation into Tether and its activities. How does this affect strong, the sentiment is growing amongst communities that Tether is in big trouble. Would the expected hammer drop on Tether have an impact on this community?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Tether has been “in big trouble” for years. It’s still here. There are other stable coins. Stable coins may require bank licenses. Or they may not. Again, speculating wastes a lot of time.
$STRONG Q: Working in allowing to transfer node?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Yes, we are working on it. Initially, it will only be available to those whose wallets have been provably compromised.
$STRONG Q: @phtevenstrong Hi David, can you give us any hints at what sort of smaller investment opportunities STRONG might offer for those looking to invest <$6000 initially?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Pools. Short, Medium and Long term pools where you can participate in validator and node ownership of different chains without having to create a node. For node creators, it will be a nice way to supplement what they’re already doing.
$STRONG Q: we need strong merchandise!
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Merch is in the works. Profits to charity.
$STRONG Q: Hi David, can you give us a insight into some of the discussions that’s been had about sustainability?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Yes. Think of the protocol like a human body, with many different organs and functions, all working to keep you healthy. That’s what we’re working on for StrongBlock.
$STRONG Q: spoke with my CPA about changes with Strong going forward. I mentioned node monetization.
His response was that if people are able to sell their nodes, then it would potentially reclassify the project as an investment from the standpoint of taxes and a "Business".
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope I have no idea of the tax implications. We do consult legal, tax and economics while we’re working on new ideas.
$STRONG Q: Amazing. I know this has been asked a lot in many different ways, but is there any chance some of these pools might by on the Polygon network? $MATIC
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Possibly on one or more networks outside of Ethereum 1.0. It’s complicated. We’re trying to make it as simple as possible for the community.
$STRONG Q: Can you explain how STRONG is not a Ponzi and some ways strong will be bringing in revenue soon - so to show people how strong will progress in the future (people didn't like the response last week lol even tho we knew it was a joke about Medicare)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope People will say what they will say. It’s just FUD. Our response is that we have many projects in the works that will reinvest capital into pools, nodes and validators, all of which will be producing revenue for the community.
$STRONG Q: To those complaining about eth node monetization. I would like to say it is peanuts not worth going after. Then people stupidly complain company had no revenues. I like to ask what monetization do many no real utility NFT out there have?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Nice summary. The model not only works, we are constantly looking at ways to improve it for the community. In October, you’ll see a number of these ideas start to emerge. (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We want long-term sustainability. We’re already 9 months in for NaaS. That’s more sustainable than most protocols. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: Given the current rate of new $ETH node creation, it's likely that before the end of 2021 the rewards pool will be fractional.
Total rewards available to be claimed by node holders will exceed the total Strong in the rewards pool.
Are you comfortable with this?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope As we’ve discussed in AMA’s and in the pinned post, we are working on many different ways to sustain the protocol. That’s our top priority. As I said earlier in this AMA, think of it like a human body (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope it needs many different parts to function. That’s what we’re building. A leaving, breathing, sustainable protocol. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: how far away would the “claim and reinvest into a node” feature be so we don’t get the strong going back to our wallet, which sucks tax wise since it’s counted as income as soon as it touches our wallet - even though we’ll send it back to strong instantly
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope As I’ve mentioned in several previous AMA’s, we’re working on a new “routing” system that will give you several different choices during claiming. Once it’s live, we can keep adding new options to it: pools, nodes, validators, merch, charity, etc.
$STRONG Q: Hi David...How soon after NFT holders would non NFT holders be able to create $MATIC nodes?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Once the pilot fills up (likely 1000 nodes), we’ll evaluate to see how many we can sustain. $MATIC
$STRONG Q: once i purchase 10 strong and buy a node, the 10 tokens get allocated to the rewards pool and future use pools etc. so the team does not sell the strong tokens for fiat to pay for the hardware required for the ETH1 node. How is the hardware/cloud server space paid for
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We do not use the STRONG contribution. It goes back to the community. Even the 10% “Future use” has been used to go to the community wallet. We’ll be publishing more on that this month. (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We use the ETH fees to pay for hardware, bandwidth, people to run the hardware, etc. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: can you share your ideas on how strong will become more decentralized?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Eventually there will be a DAO controlled by STRONG holders. We are building towards that, and discuss it frequently in our strategy meetings. Everything we’re doing is about sustainability of the protocol.
$STRONG Q: Did you ever regret burning 95% of the Strong tokens?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope It was necessary for the protocol to survive at the time. We can only look forward.
$STRONG Q: Hi David. How are you building resilience into the protocol in the event the crypto market takes a significant dive?
$STRONG Q: as Strong price goes to say $2000, can new node creators be able to create nodes for say 3 or 4 strongs, so it doesn’t hurt them fiat wise. Having the 10 per node fixed for all protocols doesn’t seem right or enticing.
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We’re looking at fractionalization. Think of it as a theme park ride, where there is a roller coaster train with 8 cars, 6 people to a car. Once it fills with 48 people, it takes off. (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We’re using that approach to conceptualize fractionalization of nodes and validators. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: Are there any plans to cap the amount of nodes on StrongBlock? Or is there just an infinite amount of nodes that can be set up?
$STRONG Q: any update on the system you have spoken about before where people can earn NFTs or level up NFTs if they may not be in a financial position to purchase one?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope There will be a lottery to purchase a handful of NFT’s at a discount. We’re hoping to publish details in the next few weeks.
$STRONG Q: have you and your team decided when you will pull the remainder of Silver and Gold NFT's for the earn your NFT program? Hopefully this hasn't been asked and I missed the answer.
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope That’s coming soon. “Earning” has proved quite complicated to build. So we’re looking at a weekly lottery where the winner can purchase at a discount - whenever they’re ready.
$STRONG Q: Hi David, would this involve staking Strong tokens in a pool to have a say in governance decisions ?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Yes. Exactly. That was the original intent of the STRONG pool.
$STRONG Q: any plans for the profits made on the NFTs? is that what is going to start the validators, $eth 2.0 nodes, etc?
$STRONG Q: with all these fake protocols claiming to offer nodes like $strong. What's the best way to steer people away from imitators. When I tell people Im picking more strong nodes, Im really telling people that I'm picking up strong block nodes and not @StrongNodeEdge
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Does the other group you mention even have nodes yet? We have 100k, and a thriving community. Why would you want to go somewhere that doesn’t even have their platform launched?
PS. @StrongNodeEdge has blocked me (bacon) for warning investors that they're scamming people - Please do not fall for their lies or their IDO they have coming up - They are a SCAM
$STRONG Q: anyway to see like infographics on nodes per wallets, NFTs per wallet etc? think would be cool to see on the website or maybe shared once a month on infographics
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Good idea, and something that’s important, but not as urgent. We have a considerable amount of twice-daily statistics that would make for a nice “stats” page. I’d like to see it myself! (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope (The numbers themselves can get a little mind-numbing. They need graphics!) (2/2)
$STRONG Q: Back to my earlier question… will there be a need to hold one of these NFTs to run a $Matic node?
$STRONG Q: Can you tell us the statistics of users with 70 nodes or more? I want to know where I stand compared to others.
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Looks like we need to bump up the priority of a stats page…😉
$STRONG Q: where are physically located nodes ?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Primarily Singapore, for all sorts of reasons. Sentinel really appreciates that for their $DVPN nodes, as Singapore is not part of 14 Eyes.
$STRONG Q: If in the future a reward reduction is announced is it correct that if your node is not 100 days old the reduction will not affect it until it is 100 days old?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope That is one of the plans we’ve discussed. It has the most merit, since it would not affect people who had just created nodes.
$STRONG Q: On the dapp, can you add a function to sort nodes by days left until fee is due?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Interesting. I’ll add it to the Engineering discussion.
$STRONG Q: how will Strong let us know when to put our name in for a lottery of NFT's at a discounted price as mentioned.
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope You won’t put your name in. It will likely be a simple thing, like having made a new node in the past wee.
$STRONG Q: Can we extend the pay up to 90 days to 1000 days so I can sleep easy at night?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope That is beyond the limits of how Solidity and Ethereum 1.0 works, unfortunately. That’s why we set it at 90.
$STRONG Q: could you clarify the status of $dVPN nodes? It is perceived that they are not fulfilling a grant to incentivize node growth for us.
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Sentinel will be providing a grant. We are also a Sentinel Validator. Our share of Sentinel node and validator rewards (minus the costs to run the validator) will be part of a new Validator pool we’re building. $dvpn
$STRONG Q: Posts about guessing cities on Twitter have any deeper sense or it's just for fun?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Just for fun. For now. In 2022, we have a new NFT protocol we’ll be launching that will be location-based.
$STRONG Q: Sorry for not clarifying, not rewards but cost to buy node? $MATIC
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope It will likely be the same as Ethereum 1.0. (nodes)
$STRONG Q: how much earlier will NFT holders have access to new projects?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope How much earlier than earlier? They’ll be first. That’s as early as you can get. How much earlier depends on how long it takes to fill up and evaluate the pilot group.
$STRONG Q: how does strongblocks as a company make money out of this model? do you have a margin on the ETH nodes? or is it a non profit?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Thin margin on the ETH nodes, since people are part of the overhead as well. And even then we’re saving that to create validators and pools. We have enough.
$STRONG Q: Hi David, would a treasury which acts a counter balance for the reward pool being considered. Ex- it autonomously buys and sells stable coins in exchange for strong to replenish the pool. ( excuse my ignorance if it is a bad idea ) lol
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We’re looking at a version of that. Autonomously buying is fraught with peril, given key exposure for automation. Look what just happened with Compound. But we will be looking at deploying the capital from validators, (1/2)
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope a portion of fees, etc, to provide additional sources of liquidity and rewards. (2/2)
$STRONG Q: Cardano and Coti recently announced a joint project, I was wondering if you’d spoken to either project regarding nodes? Thank you $COTI $ADA
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Not yet. Will be doing so soon. $ADA $COTI
$STRONG Q: how about some awards for people having unique and interesting node names and locations? Currently everyone keeps it as Singapore and some vague node names like 001 etc. it will look more interesting to read the nodes listings page if everyone edited their node infor
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope Locations will be a key part of the NFT system we’re building for early 2022.

$STRONG Q: What feedback have you gotten from Sentinel? Would they like to have more nodes from the Strong community? Do you see a benefit to Strong as a community or company to deploying more sentinel nodes beyond the rewards that they’re not yet prepared to offer? $DVPN
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We’ll be talking with Sentinel again next week. We’re waiting to find out when they will provide node-based protocol rewards. However, we are working on a new overall approach for ALL protocols that may alleviate some of the rewards issues.
Overview of @WithoutTheRope weekly AMA in the $STRONG Telegram ⬇️⬇️⬇️
$STRONG Q: Hi David could you give us any updates on any changes to node rewards . As I believe you and the team have been working on ways to make the project sustainable with halvings?
$STRONG A: @WithoutTheRope We have several models. Working with our advisors, we’re trying to come up with a hybrid model that will include validator and other pools. These pools would in turn contribute to the sustainability of rewards.
