✨ The Cast Members are stepping up, and they are EAGER TO PLEASE. From hotel staff to custodial teams to entertainment & attractions (which was especially impressive). 1/
I saw dozens of guest interactions that went above and beyond mere customer service. After months of relatively low expectations due to limited numbers of guests, this Cast knew that it’s THE DAY OF THE SHOW, y’all, and I was often wowed. We shouldn’t take them for granted. 2/
The new Magic Kingdom nighttime spectacular #Enchantment is TERRIFIC. These shows aren’t meant to be experienced on a small screen.
The show is elegant & artful; it’s thrilling to see DIVERSE voices & stories finally step into the spotlight in a major way. 3/
The innumerable decorative elements for the 50th — especially the stunning golden character statues — elevate the elegance of the whole celebration. Disney could’ve branded this with tacky, touristy camp — they have before (ahem, bouncy castle birthday cake). 4/
Instead, they’ve aspired for a feel that’s classy, energetic and charismatic. That’s a hard branding dynamic to get right! Everything from the color scheme to the copywriting is all on the same page. It’s property wide, both physical and digital products. Super impressive. 5/
Crowds are lined up to return, and Disney faces some significant challenges. The tech of the Walt Disney World app, mobile ordering, park passes, dining reservations etc continue to be the real Achilles heel of WDW in the current era. #WaltDisneyWorld
Mobile ordering had a massive meltdown yesterday at Magic Kingdom. With Genie+ and Galactic Starcruiser on the way, the tech elements have got to learn to perform their “show” as beautifully and impressively as Disney’s real live humans are. 7/7
Always a nice touch: if you attend a major opening, Disney distributes exclusive theme park maps printed on thick art paper, well worth saving as a keepsake!
