Marx and Lenin and Engels and Uncle Ho could only write about their own times and material conditions. We study them to learn HOW they thought, so we can apply their methods CREATIVELY to our circumstances in the here and now.
Trans liberation, decolonization, BLM, ableism.... these are not distractions because the old books don't discuss them. They are our material conditions. Learn dialectical materialism so you can properly consider and synthesize these concerns into the movement.
Class is the primary contradiction, there are many secondary contradictions. Class relates to base, many other forms of oppression relate to superstructure. Base determines superstructure but superstructure impacts base. Mutual impact! They reinforce each other dialectically!
Learn to apply theory creatively, then test it with practice. If you feel you have to ignore and dismiss the deep concerns entire segments of the working class you're doing something very wrong. Dialectical materialism is a creative and living science! Apply it!

This is an example of the kind of reductive dogmatic chauvinism I've been talking about. TwinRabbits constructed an incredible document of indigenous ideas which influenced Western socialism. The entire piece is dismissed because it also challenged whiteness.
It would be absolutely fine to challenge that aspect of TwinRabbits' work, to engage with the question of whether TwinRabbits' evidence and reasoning were sound on that specific point. Instead the entire video, indeed, the entire perspective is dismissed out of hand.
And not even the point of contention itself (the question of white supremacy in the works of Marx and Engels) is ever addressed, explored, negated, synthesized, in any way. It's just dismissed, erased, cast aside, dogmatically.

🧵 On chauvinism and dogmatism: a thread 🧵

I feel like the number one goal of scientific socialism is seeking truth. We should be aligning our ideology with reality as much as possible. This means seeking a COMPREHENSIVE AND HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE.
A scientific socialist should seek as many perspectives as possible, knowing that as humans we are all subject to blind spots and false consciousness. Chauvinism rejects comprehensive and systematic observation by rigidly adopting a perspective and shutting down all others.
This recent business with Land Back/decolonization and the USA flag has shown the chauvinism of many Western leftists. With decolonization, indigenous people have done communists a SERVICE by identifying and offering their perspective of a major contradiction within capitalism.

Most Vietnamese Marxist literature and theory has never been translated from Vietnamese. Our Marxist theory is a living science, with emphasis on APPLYING theory CREATIVELY. My first curriculum translation will be finished soon, showing how to apply dialectical materialism.
My article on social change is Vietnamese Marxist theory because I'm Vietnamese and I'm a Marxist. The chauvinists who are trying to dismiss these ideas don't have an actual grasp on dialectical materialism and can't make coherent arguments against my positions.
If your ONLY response to ideas is to make ad hominems, bluster, and harass, it says a lot more about you than me. I'm very confident in my analysis and my grasp of scientific socialism and how I've applied it to contemporary issues we face in the real world today.

🧵 Dialectical Materialist Analysis of Land Back / Indigenous Liberation: a Thread🧵

I have seen SO many communists display a range of misunderstanding ranging from honest ignorance to aggressive bigotry pertaining to the indigenous concept of LAND BACK.

So let's discuss!
First, indigenous people are NOT a monolith. I can't speak for all indigenous people. Land Back means different things for different indigenous people. This relates to the Dialectical Materialist concept which in Vietnamese socialism we call "private and common."
Just like with communism, Land Back manifests in different ways for individual indigenous peoples (private aspects), but there are also commonalities which exist across most indigenous movements.

As an officially trained Marxist-Leninist from an actual Marxist nation, I'm so sorry I have to tell you that you're 100% wrong.
We literrally did "land back" in 1954 lol. We call it "land reforms".

My grandparents' land were literally seized by the communists and it was redistributed equally to all poor peasants in the village 😂

Some have said I "make my content for an American audience" and appeal to USA viewers. One thing I'm proud of is how international my audience is. The people in the USA I'm most interested in reaching are the marginalized and oppressed: black, indigenous, trans, migrants, etc.
I make my content to try and offer a Vietnamese communist perspective that seldom gets heard directly. Unfortunately, NOBODY can live beyond the shadow of USA politics. I won't apologize for commenting on the largest terrorist nation in the world and how it threatens us.
In fact, I will talk about whatever the hell I want. I'm not here to serve your expectations of what a Vietnamese person should discuss or sound like. I interview comrades from Brazil, China, Thailand, Chile, India, all over the world. And we are all concerned with the USA.
