Let's talk Debt Ceiling:

Congress can only use Budget Rec once per fiscal year. The 2022 fiscal year began 10/1. If they use Budget Rec to raise the Debt Ceiling w/out attaching their massive 2 legged spending spree, their spending will have to wait until 10/1/22 (FY 2023).

The Dems do have the power to raise the Debt Ceiling now w/their current numbers, but don't want to waste the opportunity to attach their spending agenda.

So they'll wait to create a crisis & try to force Sinema & Manchin to join their spending spree to avoid shutdown.

Mitch McConnell, by not participating in the Debt Ceiling vote, is forcing the Dem's hand. That's pretty savvy.

The politics right now is to blame the GOP. But the reality is the left is trying to pressure Sinema & Manchin to choice between shut down & spending spree.

The fact that the media is going along w/blaming the GOP for the Debt Ceiling situation is par for the course.

Never forget the crap Pelosi & Schumer pulled during the Trump admin. Pelosi wouldn't allow infrastructure votes, Schumer slowed appointment of Trump nominees.

But this is why the left worked so hard to get their spending bills into place before 10/1. I'm not surprised the media didn't pick up on this. But they should now.

HEY MEDIA: WAKE UP!

However, the Dems already used Budget Rec for FY 2021 to pass the American Rescue Plan (Covid 19 Stimulus) in March. This is why the GOP didn't participate in that bill. By forcing Budget Rec for the ARP, they stalled the Dem's spending spree into FY 2022.

Why didn't Pelosi and Schumer extend the debt ceiling in March when they had the opportunity? The only reason would be to use it as a hammer, a threat, at a later date. And that's exactly what they're doing right now.
