1) Short thread on Propaganda:
Propaganda is effective because it is connected to our ego & exploits identity, fear & instinctive tribalism
This is why there's 2 wings of media
1 which the "left" political faction highly identifies with & another that the "right" identifies with

2) Each will unquestioningly accept propaganda which comes from their faction.

This betrayed trust, driven by fear is used to herd us into power-serving agendas.

Vitriol between factions serves as a reinforcement of the narrative on either side

3) This opens the door to set-up multiple competing sets of rhetoric, which ultimately result in the same set of conclusions.
Although on the surface both sides appear to be in conflict, ultimately the two sides quietly reach the same conclusion(s)
Examples:

- There was WNDs in Iraq so both sides agreed that we must invade....
- a dude in a cave masterminded 9/11
- We must have a "healthcare bill"
- We must "flatten the curve"
- "Trust the Science"
- Edward Snowden and Julian Assange are "traitors"
etc., etc...

I can't count count how many times I have heard a conservative defend some of the screwed shit Trump pulled by stating: "the enemy of my enemy is my ally" or some similar nonsense

but why do these people forget their principles & defend someone who they thought shared those principles, and ignore that they betrayed them?

Because when the opposing faction attacked Trump repeatedly it tapped into conservative's ego driven fear & tribal identities

7) Psychologically this is no different than when a village is attacked by a neighboring rival. It is an emotionally driven psychological defense mechanism which overrides logical thought patterns

8) This is one of the ways that both "left" and "right-wing" media & politicians work together to install Trojan Horses on the right, and it's effective every single time
