1/4 The Albertina Nontsikelelo Sisulu Science Centre, in which the #CSIR was the implementation agent, was launched today by the @dsigov in Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape. 
2/4 The CSIR oversaw the design & construction of SA’s 1st purpose-designed science centre that will not only demonstrate technology, but also incorporate the latest sustainable technologies.
3/4 The Centre will assist & encourage learners from 26 schools in the district to study #STEM. Through the design & dev of the centre, CSIR is able to contribute to science learning by demonstrating how #greenbuildings are designed, contracted, constructed & optimally occupied.
4/4 It contains classrooms, chemistry labs, physics labs & computing labs & a multi-purpose lecture hall/planetarium. This is in support of the SKA global next-gen radio telescope project involving institutions from over 20 countries – a project strongly supported by @dsigovza
