हिंदी में लिख रहा हूं क्योंकि हिंदी के पाठक तक वो सब बातें शायद नहीं पहुंचेंगी।
हल्द्वानी की गफूर बस्ती को उजाड़ने पर कई दलीले दी जा रही हैं। जो इसके पक्ष में हैं वो मुख्यधारा के मीडिया पर दी जा रही लैंड जिहाद जैसी ओछी राजनीतिक दलील को ही सही मानेंगे।

बाक़ी लोग पढ़ना जारी रखें।
एक सरसरी रीडिंग पर भी कोर्ट का यह ऑर्डर काफ़ी संकुचित दिखता है। इसमें हज़ारों गरीबों से किसी प्रकार की हमदर्दी नहीं झलकती हैं। मसलन लोगों को केवल “इंक्रोचर” और कुछ जगहों पर “वोट बैंक” की तरह संबोधित किया जाना भोंडा और क्रूर है। यह शब्दावली किस विचारधारा की उपज है, आप जानते हैं।

Compare Shahrukh's statement on religious intolerance from 2015 to his recent statement. There is consistency in what he's saying. However, he's more careful with his words right now.

Some progressive commentators who have pointed out that Shahrukh's silence has enabled hate must acknowledge that when SRK said what he prophetically said in 2015, they were still in awe of Mr Modi. In fact they even criticised people for not giving him enough time.

You won't find any old tweets of SRK (or any influential progressive Muslim celeb) from 2012 or 13 cheering the BJP. There is enough stuff for introspection here. It's easy to delete old views but you can't undo how this optimism has influenced the course of politics in India.
