With due respect, we should defend human rights more than our imaginary idea of the nation. Your argument that X or Y can't speak for Indian Muslims is flawed on so many levels:

1. It doesn't recognise the failure of state institutions to stop hate speech and violence.
Contd. 2. When you say that X or Y country has no moral authority to speak on India, then why do you want us to speak up for minorities in X or Y countries?

3. The ‘battle has just begun’ comes across as insensitive to those who have lost their lives to mob violence and homes to JCBs.

Priciple of essentiality is a flawed legal tool & is biased towards the “way of life” majority. The job of a judge is to analyze legality and not religiosity. Using these bad methods, judges can proclaim that even mosques are not essential for Muslims (for eg. the Ayodhya case). In Ayodhya, the court was supposed to see if the mosque was illegally demolished (Yes), whether idols were illegally installed (Yes), and which side had the better claim over the land.

Court was more interested in knowing if Muslims really need mosques to pray or not.

No grandstanding here but I believe that most commentators don't really know about the core of the #SulliDeals problem. There are thousands of quite educated (mostly UC H) accounts who think that Modi is not anti-Muslim enough.

They're called TRADS. HAVE A PEAK INTO THEIR FILTH. The other side is Raita (not so brazenly vicious but more cunning and opportunistic). At this point in our history, there are thousands of well read and articulate young TRADS who glorify Godse, Dara Singh and Babu Bajrangi as heroes. They're extremely radicalized. Introspect?
