As someone with food sensory issues, I can tell you exactly what the difference is between Kellogg's frosted mini wheats and the bargain brands (K has thinner biscuits, thus higher ratio of sugar frosting to extruded fiber), and also that it's no reason to cross a picket line.

If you have a need that can literally only be answered by crossing a picket line, I'm not going to tell you to not do it, but... you don't have to make it a public referendum. You're not going to benefit from it.

I get, at least intellectually, that if everybody on your timeline is saying/RTing "Don't buy skub!" when you literally need skub for disability reasons that it sounds like everybody is shaming you, but they're not calling you out or addressing you by name.

Turning it into a public referendum on your needs vs. labor organization creates the situation in reality that you were fearing, where strangers are judging you... bad for you... and weakens the labor organization, bad for the workers, and also bad for you who needs the product.

Like, I use Amazon. I will probably always use Amazon, until there isn't an Amazon or until there's an actual alternative that meets my needs without being as bad as Amazon. And I will probably regret making a literal example of myself here, because see preceding tweet...

...but what I don't do is reply to people calling for people to cancel their Amazon subscriptions and stop using Amazon with "Well actually I have a constellation of disability and personal circumstances that make me dependent on a monopolistic online retailer, so this is bad."

Things aren't about you just because they apply to you. If you're crossing a picket line for survival reasons, you don't have to compound that by actively and openly opposing the picket line. Literally nobody benefits from that. Certainly not you.
