1.As believers we r to spur one another on in the faith, so let's review a biblical principle and do just that. Rom 12:21 Do not let yourself be overcome by evil but overcome (master)evil with good. Evil is never overcome by matching it w wrath or carnal
2.intelligence. No matter how wise or strong u r there will always b one wiser & stronger who can take u down. But God in His wisdom established His Kingdom principles so that even a child can overcome evil by doing good. Let me illustrate this principle. Many yrs ago my college
3.Buddy & me were on the Subway in Atlanta. We had just made Jesus our Lord...spanking new in Christ. A man approached us who behaved as though he was mentally challenged. He smiled & was friendly as he engaged us in conversation. This led to him pulling out the ball & shell game
4. He played a few rounds w us. But then asked if we wanted to play for our necklaces. My thought was, "It wud b very unfair to do that. This young man is mentally challenged & I dont want to take advantage of him." So I declined. Long story short I then watched this man move to
5.another woman who lost her gold chain necklace to him in that shell game. Turned out he was not mentally challenged at all!! Holy Spirit taught me that day that I had been protected from evil by love and concern for my fellow man. By choosing what was good, I had thwarted evil.
6.Greed caused the other woman to open the door to evil & be taken by it. In the early days, Holy Spirit needed to teach me by very obvious examples like this. But this same principle works in every aspect of our lives. Nothing is more powerful than love! Whatever evil situation
7.ur facing friend, be excellent at what is good. Be innocent of evil. And the God of peace will soon crush Satan underneath ur feet! (Rom 16:19)
