🧵 personal thread on the Gov race. & I’ll keep it short & measured bc I have a moderate professional conflict of interest I can’t afford to inflame - I take issue with Republicans using our party as a Trojan horse. Folks say, well no1 else wants to run. that’s not true./1
We just know what happens when a candidate isnt the chosen one of the powers that be in the OK dem party. & this is the opposite direction of where the Oklahoma Democratic Party has proven to be moving!
We just re-elected the 1st AA woman to serve as state party chair! & she /2
hasn’t always been treated fairly by the same machine that is propping up candidates who don’t excite, or give any level of reasonable comfort to, progressives.
They just convinced Abby Broyles to run again when they KNOW she was abusive to her staff and a miserable candidate/3
My question is why? Why can’t we have candidates who are moving the same direction as our party? “They’re good fundraisers, though!” So what!?
Switching parties might be the path of least resistance for a Republican trying to beat Stitt, but /4
As a party, are we really ready to just say fuck it and vote for conservatives? I hope not. I’m sure as hell not.
This could have been an EXTREMELY expensive primary for Stitt. Instead, he’ll walk into the general w/out a fight at the expense of Dems. I can’t support that. /end
Clarification - this is inaccurate. Broyles was not convinced to run again. But I’m sure her contribution reporting will not surprise anyone

#TW!!! 🧵 “Sarah, why are you so hard on the @GovStitt” I take on a lot of personal passion projects. They normally center on the NDN experience, women, kids, mental wellness and sex worker rights.
Supposed to write what you know, right? /1
I write about NDN life because it is my responsibility to keep fighting for the honor of my ancestors and to protect my future generations from Yt supremacists like @GovStitt (worth noting, he’s also fighting for his ancestors legacy 🙃) /2
I fight for women’s rights because I won’t disrespect myself or dishonor my ancestors by allowing the same colonizers’ country who forced sterilization on nearly 25% of NDN women/girls in a 6 year period to tell ANY OF US what we can do with our bodies. /3
