4/ Per @bernstein_lynn, a legitimate election integrity advocate, there is a legitimate concern about whether ES&S provided NC with systems that include modems. 
5/The problem is that the only people willing to force the point to find out are Republicans. ES&S has misled in the past (eg, re: internet connectivity & remote access), but I also don’t trust anyone in the GOP, soooo. Frick.
6/ I’ll try to get links to support what Lynn wrote. I do recall that ES&S did a last second switcheroo on the system it provided in at least one county before the 2020 election.
7/ As of 3/1/21, ES&S 3.4.1.1 was still certified for use in NC. h/t @bernstein_lynn s3.amazonaws.com/dl.ncsbe.gov/s…
8/ This document (from Wisconsin) says that ES&S 3.4.1.1 includes a modem.
9/It’s an analog rather than a wireless modem though. I thought there were questions about whether newer NC systems from ES&S might have wireless modems but maybe I’m remembering wrong. I’ll try to find out one way or the other
