As of tonight, there are 45 defendants in Jan 6 cases being held in the DC jail.
They are held together in what *they* call the “Patriot Wing”, per attorneys. An attorney for one of the inmates recently told a judge, the defendant sought to go “in the hole” voluntarily to get away from the others
For now….
His attorney says one of the Jan 6 inmates was accused of "cozying up' to correctional officers, by other US Capitol breach defendants

One of a growing number of Jan 6 defendants with current or former ties to military

It begins with an ongoing dispute over whether/how to share US Capitol surveillance video with defense lawyers.

Judge Paul Friedman, citing the attack from Jan 6, "There are reasons every camera in the Capitol..... should not be shown to the world...."

STANDBY: Hearing beginning in Jan 6 case of Timothy Hale-Cusanelli.

Hale-Cusanelli is accused Nazi sympathizer & allegedly harassed police at Capitol on Jan 6

His attorney previously said Hale-Cusanelli & others were "swindled" by Donald Trump's post-election challenge
Judge is detailing logistical hurdles with having Hale-Cusanelli's trial next month. COVID and firehose of Jan 6 cases are backlogging DC federal court

Judge: "We're only going to be running a certain number of jury trials next month"
Judge: We don't have room in the courthouse to have this trial on Tuesday, Nov. 9

There is a trial on Nov 8 for a defendant who's been in pretrial detention since 2020... per judge

COVID backlogs in American courts are real... and underreported by us in media

Taxpayers are paying for this mailer sent by Rep Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-Ga)

It's a piece of official "franked mail".. a Congressional perk to provide "official communication" by elected officials at taxpayer expense

Rules prohibit "political" mailings...

(THREAD) ImageImage
The US House Commission on Congressional Mailing Standards formally approved using the taxpayer "franking privilege" for this mailer in September ==> Image
Rep. Taylor-Greene has introduced formal legislation that is referenced in the mailing.

I've read a lot of "franked mail" through the years ... and rarely, if ever, seen FOX NEWS logos

Mailer includes the standard/required disclaimer about taxpayer expense
