hmm.. I want to hack the process
--> build in public, don't wait a year to publish
--> spend 50 hours instead of 1,000 (ghost scribe)
first step - open up my project kickoff template
#1 - Define winning
#2 - call out the anti-goals
possible book ideas:
"Do not believe their lies" -- the truth behind the lies society tells us
"Life Hacking" - a collection of stories & cheat codes
"Hacking Time" - why hard work is overrated. how to make more money while working less hard, and have tons of free time
hmmm
took a few hours to let it simmer while I did daddy duty.
one key question bubbled up:
If I didn't have a bunch of pre-concieved notions about book writing, what would I do differently?
answer:
i would design a lightweight product.
- start with a prototype (a tweetstorm)
- then flesh it out into a "book"
- books are too long, and usually just a bunch of fluff around one main point
what if I wrote a book that was meant to be consumed fully in 1 hour?
how many words can the avg person read in an hour?
250 words per minute x 60 minutes = 15,000 words
avg book page holds 300 words. So ~50 pages long
i love it, a thin book, just the substance and less fluff
how would i prototype it?
- start a tweet storm
- then a 2 chapter teaser (collect emails or preorders)
- then finish the 50 page book
btw wtf. landed on a random ghost writing website and they have the most clingy live chat
alright enough talking, time to write! first chapter done!
using this typewriter looking font to give myself Big Writer Energy
alright calling it a night. 4 chapters drafted in a night!

Most NFTs today follow the same "copy pasta" playbook.
- pick an animal (apes, penguins, lions etc.)
- autogenerate 10,000 variations
- try to sell it as the next big thing (get rich quick)
- and give 'exclusive access' to a discord
I wanted to do something different..
I wanted to create an NFT that had utility. Inspired by the willy wonka golden ticket idea.
Get a golden ticket, get access into the chocolate factory (hard/impossible to get otherwise)
So I created "5 Minutes of Fame"...
it gives the holder 5 minutes of airtime on our podcast, My First Million.
The podcast gets about ~1 Million downloads per month, and is growing about 20-30% compounded monthly
We don't take any external advertisers, so this is really the only way to buy your way onto the show
