Sentencing now for Robert Reeder, who pleaded guilty to one count of “parading” in Capitol. At the last minute before his last hearing, ⁦@SeditionHunters⁩ claimed to have found video showing he attacked a cop. He didn’t—and wasn’t charged. amgreatness.com/2021/08/19/a-l…
But the media pile-on was brutal. Reporters gratified another “insurrectionist” would be accused of assaulting a police officer. One example:
Here’s Biden’s DOJ evidence against Reeder. You would laugh if it’s wasn’t so f*cking outrageous and openly political. It includes mean memes of…Joe Biden.
DOJ now explaining how Reeder believed the election was stolen and his hashtags he posed on FB including Stop the Steal and Joe Biden is Not My President. Also a post saying "God Bless Donald Trump" and how Trump did more than any other president in history.

HOW IS THIS REAL?
DOJ is arguing Reeder's explanation that he went to rally bc he had nothing else to do, was a registered Dem and supported some of Trump's policies.

More FB posts: DOJ talking about Reeder's posts on GA election fraud. "Democrats can't stop cheating and lying." Now going thru...
all the memes he posted including about Biden, Pelosi, and a post showing more votes that registered votes. Mocking Smartmatic software. Another mean meme on Biden. THIS IS BIDEN'S DOJ.

Oh no "some are more extreme." MEMES.
"Conservatives will stand their ground." Comments on civil war. Prosecutor now walking thru charges, Reeder's claims he walked thru an open door.

DOJ wants Reeder in jail for six months for a parading plea.
One slide re: Reeder. More firsthand account of cops beating a woman near/in west terrace tunnel. Another reason why DOJ wants him punished:
DOJ playing cherry-picked video of protesters yelling at cops. I am SURE the video omits cops beating people, dousing them with toxic spray, kicking them, and knocking them down.
Playing more video (can't see it) to dispute Reeder's claim he did not engage in violence. Also disputing Reeder's claim that he didn't realize the totality of what was going on until he got home and saw it on TV.
DOJ accusing Reeder of assaulting police but refused to charge him. They do this continually - make claims in court but refuse to charge accordingly. DOJ does this because charging him would require DOJ to turn over ALL the relevant video in discovery, Brady rule.
DOJ showing more video of him "assaulting" an officer. Outrageous. I hope Reeder's attorney rips this prosecutor. Reeder's attorney said previously he had seen more video and that it was exculpatory. DOJ doing this to bolster its demand for 6 months in prison.
DOJ disputes Reeder's account of cops beating a woman. Says he couldn't identify her and that DOJ isn't aware of any woman being beaten by police. Sure sure.

Again accuses Reeder of assaulting a police officer.

DOJ admits he has no criminal record. But shows "lack of remorse."
More rantings about Reeder's FB account. DOJ - he deleted his FB account but DOJ got search warrant by FB to retrieve deleted posts now used as incriminating evidence.

LOL he was walking around "like he was a Congressman." HOW DARE HE?

DOJ wants deterrence for "future rioters."
Reeder atty Robert Bonsib up now (I think) it's very hard to hear. "There's more to the story than how they cut and pasted" the evidence.

Bonsib: DOJ claims it's not about 1A but evidence is FB memes. "I saw some of these myself." Berating DOJ for criminalizing FB posts.
Hogan, of course, defending DOJ. Not about 1A but claims posts are used to dispute Reeder's explanation why he went on J6, that he was a Democrat. Argument is whether he was a Trump supporter or not.

After covering this for months, I shouldn't be shocked at what I hear. But I am
I feel bad for Reeder's attorney. He's done a good job and is giving a good argument now. But I have no doubt Judge Hogan, a Reagan appointee who ordered Sicknick "sprayers" to stay behind bars awaiting trial, will agree with DOJ to sentence Reeder to 6 months.
DOJ sentencing memo: "The attack on the U.S. Capitol...is a criminal offense unparalleled in American history. It represented a grave threat to our democratic norms; it was the one of the only times in our history when the building was literally occupied by hostile participants."
"The Defendant stood in the center of the rotunda, where Ruther (sic) Bader Ginsburg, John Lewis, Ronald Reagan, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, and Abraham Lincoln...lied in state. He stood there and filmed rioters in combat gear and others waving their partisan flags...
and cheering. What the Defendant chose to record and celebrate at that place, at that time, was antithetical to the events that most Americans associate with the Capitol rotunda. Indeed, his very presence in the Capitol rotunda that day was a desecration of hallowed ground."
It's impossible to hear the proceedings so I will take a break here and wait for Hogan to sentence Reeder to six months for parading in the Capitol. I'm sure his comments prior to sentencing will be dramatic.
Bonsib now telling judge that Reeder was defending himself against police. DOJ/USCP do NOT want all video released so they can continue to cover-up police behavior that day.
Bonsib warning about danger of video evidence. DOJ controls all the video and cherry picks footage to produce incriminating clips or just uses screenshots or video so they don’t have to enter the full recording as evidence.
5 minute recess before Hogan, 83, comes back and throws the book at Reeder. (My guess)
Reeder’s brother now takes stand. He’s worked for DOJ for 30 years. “Events of January 6 out of character for him.” Active in community, church. Says Robert called him the next day, said he was aware he shouldn’t have been there. He’s already suffered, losing his job. His child…
has a completely different relationship with him now. His family was appalled. Aware his actions affected a lot of people. Reminds Judge he’s pleading as an individual not others around him.

That’s not how DOJ or the court is handling these cases. Guilt by association.
Reeder making statement: “it’s been a really rough ride for me.” Apologizes to court for his “inexcusable actions.” I’m embarrassed and ashamed. Left a permanent stain on me, society, the country. “I don’t want to be remembered as part of that crowd. Biggest mistake of my life.”
“Most of people there taking pictures or videos. Never been to a protest. I committed an unacceptable action by being there. I’ve always supported police 110%.”

“Regretful and ashamed for being there. It was disgusting. I hope people are held to account for what they did.”
He’s lost friends. The tough part is my son, he’s my everything.

Reeder now crying. His son doesn’t want to go to school. (He’s 14). “My son doesn’t deserve this. He shouldn’t suffer.”

Lost his job, can’t find another. I’m “radioactive.” My family ashamed to share same name.
Apologizes to court for crying.

His CHURCH has asked him to take a break. “That’s tough bc that was my support group.”

“I am ruined.”

I can barely type, I’m shaking. My stomach is turning.
Begs for mercy. “Grant me one more chance to mend relationships with friends and family.”

“I am a good man.”

Hogan jumps in, no compassion. These people are inhuman. Confronts Reeder about comments on cops. Reeder said he tried to give best recollection.
Hogan scolding him. Can’t decide who’s worse, these tyrannical judges or depraved prosecutors.

He’s setting up justifying sentencing him for 6 months. Hogan hasn’t pushed back for one second against DOJ arguments. Calls it a “riot.”
Hogan discussing “new evidence” about assaulting cop. HE’S NOT CHARGED. Hogan—you’ve lost your job, lost your family, lost your friends, lost your church.

“That’s the consequences of being in the riot.” Babbling about attempt to overturn the election.

What a horrible human.
Hogan berating Reeder for lack of remorse. Lol “self serving statements to FBI.” Some were “disingenuous.”

“Evident to me in riot cases many defendants who are pleading guilty are not accepting responsibility.” Trying to get it over “as soon as possible.”

They haven’t changed…
their attitude on attacking the Capitol. A sacrosanct building that shouldn’t have been attacked by these rioters.”

Hogan claims Reeder pulled down officer. “I cannot condone that.” He’s not charged, again, with attacking officer.

“Too many cases where people feel they are…
a political prisoner.” Doesn’t apply, Hogan says.

Accuses Reeder of “dodging responsibility.” Lol says conviction shouldn’t prevent him from getting a job bc of misdemeanor. Guess Hogan doesn’t know how the world works.

Sentences him to 3 months in prison and $500.
Hoped it sends a message to other “rioters” they will serve jail time.

DOJ drops other counts.

Status hearing up now for Tim Hale-Cusanelli. He’s been in jail since January 15, charged with no violent crime related to January 6. Trial set for November 9, DOJ asking for another continuance. McFadden said he was not inclined to delay trial. We’ll see what he says today
McFadden said last week he was concerned about unfair treatment btw J6 and “social unrest” protesters. Hale is in DC jail. McFadden explaining District Court COVID rules limiting in-person trials. This will be his excuse to delay trial. “This will be first January 6 case.”
“No room in courthouse for this trial. Logistical nightmare. I don’t see any case as recent as this one.” 2019, 2020 cases starting first.

DOJ: Discovery update. Database with digital evidence still not up and running. Claims it will be accessible Oct 11. 5k hours USCP video

Watching NYT Day of Rage video again on January 6.

Apparently "members" of the Proud Boys decided it would be a swell idea to wear neon caps and arm bands to attack the Capitol and that doesn't at all look suspicious... Image

Status hearing for George Tanios and Julian Khater, the 2 men arrested in March for "spraying" Brian Sicknick. My column explaining the case here:

amgreatness.com/2021/05/28/as-…
Tanios released on appeal in August. Khater remains in DC jail. Judge Hogan, presiding today, rejected a $15 million bond offer by Khater's family.

Neither man has a criminal record. Video evidence sketchy as hell in the case.

amgreatness.com/2021/08/10/app…
DOJ: Once again confirming discovery issues at DC jail. This is an ongoing problem--jail preventing detainees from looking at evidence.

Khater atty: Prison situation is "dire" beyond discovery. Detainees in solitary, mocked by guards, inadequate food, sleeping, etc.

Political prisoner update: Tim Hale-Cusanelli has been behind bars since he turned himself in on January 15. (In DC Gitmo since early February). He is accused of no violent crime. Hearing this week to delay his trial, set for November 9. A brief history from recent filing:
Judge McFadden, the one who just gave lip service about unequal treatment of J6 vs other political activists, has delayed Hale's speedy trial rights at least 10 times. Now at 240 days past arrest. (This was filed 9/17/)
Spot how many Constitutional rights are violated here...

This is why Judge McFadden's comments about equal justice are mostly lip service. Here's what he told a January 6 protester charged with nonviolent offenses: "You were acting like those looters and rioters who attacked our city last year. You participated in a shameful event...
a national embarrassment that, like last year's riots, made us feel less safe and less confident that our country could be governed by democratic values and not mob rule." Any judge who compares January 6 to the rioting in DC last year should be thrown off the bench.
LOL clown show: "Prosecutors have previously argued that the comparison is unfair and that the insurrection was worse than riots in Portland, Oregon, and other cities last year. They said the January 6 attack was much larger and put hundreds of lawmakers in imminent danger."
