The Subverting Justice report released by the Senate Judiciary Committee shows a scheme by former president trump to use the Department of Justice 🗣 to OVERTURN THE 2020 ELECTION. It reveals a lot more than that if we care to look. Here is a wee meaningless thread🧵👇🏻
Some may argue the first impeachment of trump for his quid pro quo with Ukraine on a not perfect phone call was meaningless because the Senate had no intention of convicting their golden goose that laid federal judges and tax breaks for donors.
Some may say that impeaching trump for a second time for inciting an Insurrection was meaningless. He was out of office during the Senate trial. Ted Cruz, a sitting juror in the impeachment, was seen providing aid to trump’s lawyers. It was a sham.
If the president can be protected from Impeachment conviction by a complicit Senate, then the power of Impeachment is meaningless. Further, if a memo written by OLC says a sitting President can’t be indicted, then the rule of law is meaningless.
If the president can tell Don McGahn to not comply with a subpoana during his first impeachment, and the former president can just tell his co-conspirators to defy subpoenas looking into his actions that brought about his second impeachment, then subpoenas are meaningless.
If the Department of Justice can be used as a tool to subvert justice, obstruct justice, and provide the foundation to overturn an election by suggesting without evidence there was election fraud, and no one is held accountable, then justice itself Is meaningless.
If holding a political rally on the lawn of the White House is allowed, then the Hatch Act is meaningless. If allowing Mike Flynn to negotiate with the Russian Ambassador about sanctions prior to taking office, then the Logan Act is meaningless.
If the presidents son in law can get a security clearance even though he omitted information from his Sf-86 form (a few times) and the intelligence community recommended against it, then the review process is meaningless.
If the president can make over a billion dollars while his salary is $400,000 per year, then the emoluments clause is meaningless.
If the president has an objectively identifiable personality disorder and is left to wield his narcissism and intransigence to the result of over 400,000 preventable deaths, the 25th Amendment is meaningless.
And now here we are. Mike Flynn is running a psyop, Jared Kushner is starting an investment firm in Saudi Arabia and the twice impeached former president is continuing to spread lies about covid and the election all while the senate holds the country hostage with the filibuster.
These are not small things. But these are things that are happening because we have rendered our own tools meaningless by not using them to mete out consequences. Our failure to hold this GOP, and its cult of personality president accountability must not continue.
The Senate Judiciary report aptly titled ‘Subverting Justice’ reveals the plan. It points us toward the inevitable conclusion that the above erosions lead to. Right now, we have a Judiciary that was packed with Mitch McConnell and Leonard Leo’s judges.
All of the above erosions of our democratic principles have left us with a Supreme Court that if given the chance, may have actually been receptive to overturning the election or at the very least lending credibility to some aspects of what trump was up to.
Right now, the only thing standing between trump and the loss of our democracy is what we intend to do about it. We need to prove to ourselves that the last 243 years weren’t meaningless. That the values we say are so important to us that soldiers died for, are not meaningless.
This now resides directly in the Department of Justice. There are over 600 cases associated with the Insurrection. There was a plot to remove the Acting Attorney General if he didn’t sign a letter that would set the predicate for Eastman’s Memo that would overthrow the election.
How can the total sum of these misdeeds not be seen as acts of war against our country? Acts of war against our democracy? Antivaxx, antitruth, antireality messages keeping us sick, misinformed and angry in an effort to keep power sure sound like acts of war.
An Insurrectionist who breached the Capitol Police line, standing in the well of the Senate in fatigues and a battle helmet yelling to other insurrectionists rifling through Senators desks looking for kompromat “this is an IO war, an Information war” sounds like an act of war.
And that leaves us with the only thing we might have left. If a president can be impeached for insurrection after he leaves office, then why can’t he be impeached again for the high crimes and potential acts of Treason revealed in the Subverting Justice report?
If we fail to see his actions for what they are we will lose. Each of these schemes is a battle. They are battles in a war to retain power. Battles in a war to Subvert the Constitution, the Government, the Rule of Law and the Democracy.
The highest criminal offense available for the types of criminal activity we are witnessing is Sedition. The only crime higher than this is listed in the Constitution itself. Treason.
The evidence is mounting that trump, and his allies were engaged in a coup d’etat, an effort to overthrow the government. This is at the very least a high crime. An Insurrection, pressuring DOJ to Subvert Justice, Obstruction of Justice related to the 2016 election, high crimes.
If these high crimes are not punished, then the Constitution itself is meaningless. If trump is again let off the hook, allowed to run for president in 2024 he will win and our democracy will die. Worse, he will be a dictator with an axe to grind. He will consolidate power.
We must use every tool in our toolbox to bring justice to those who would see our democracy die. @January6thCmte has a duty. An imperative to hold trump to account. If you want to know where all this leads, read Victor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning.

We absolutely cannot allow the media to do to this Senate Judiciary Committee Report on trump’s Pressuring the DOJ to OVERTURN THE ELECTION, what they did to the Mueller report and Volume 5. These things are all connected and the context matters. 🧵👇🏻
The pieces are coming together. Jeffrey Bossert Clark (not in a position of leadership at DOJ) was making a proposal to the President of the United States, without the knowledge of his bosses, to send a letter to ‘relevant’ states 🗣to aid him in OVERTURNING THE ELECTION!!
The letter was not signed by then Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen so it was never sent to the states. The scheme was for the DOJ to tell the states they thought there were irregularities that should be reviewed. Just because they felt like there might have been fraud.

Sen Kyrsten Sinema’s objectively hypocritical approach seems very Republicany. Why? When she was shoulder to shoulder with John Cornyn, I began to worry she was a plant so I took a wee look.

All plants need sunlight. 🧵👇🏻

azcentral.com/story/news/pol…
Sinema was the lead sponsor of a bill called S1967, the “Childcare Expansion for Military Families Act of 2021”. Her bill provides construction of child development centers. But she won’t support the Build Back Better Act which provides universal pre-k and other child provisions?
Sec 3 of Sinema’s Bill reads: ‘Education and Infant And Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Services for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health’, but she doesn’t support the Build Back Better Act that would expand healthcare to children?

It’s time for us to wake up, everybody. The alarm has gone off a few times. We’ve hit the snooze button maybe once too many. It’s cold water in the face time. The 6 point plan John Eastman put together to overthrow the government, was A 6 POINT PLAN TO OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT!
If you think that there were only 6 points to this plan, good morning, I hope you slept well. No matter how big you think it is, double it. Now triple that. This story is bigger than you know and more frightening than your scariest nightmare.
The @January6thCmte is going back to April 2020 with their requests. Their request letter has a ton of names on it you haven’t heard about, names you have, and those that you need to know but who aren’t listed. One such name is Russell Ramsland.

I know you remember the crazy Kraken press conference given by Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell wherein Rudy’s hair ran down his jowls. But do you remember the details? The trump campaign knew these things to be untrue when the lawyers said them.
nytimes.com/2021/09/21/us/…
In the thread above, you’ll see that Sidney Powell referenced vote %s being taken by an algorithm from trump to Biden. What was she talking about? Hammer and Score card, that’s what. It is coming together, folks.

@maddow @JoyAnnReid @ZevShalev @glennkirschner2 @BaddCompani
Let’s think this through, everyone. If Powell and Giuliani were aware what they were saying was not true, then everything they said in that presser is suspect. Including Powells mention of vote tally changes.

John Eastman mapped out a 6 point (📌1) path for VP Pence to take to overturn the election, defy the will of the people and overthrow the government. Let’s remind ourselves of where John Eastman was on January 6th. And who he was with. 🧵👇🏻 Image
Robert Hyde, a Qonspiracy theorist with ties to Lev Parnas…Well, you know what… this sums it up.👇🏻
Rudy Colludy, who was seen exiting the Willard hotel the morning of the 6th while Roger Stone was being protected by Oathkeepers who later in the day would storm the Capitol in a golf cart provided by Cindy Chafian. Image

Which member of the main stream news media will be first to say the word ‘Praetorian’? If someone would methodically report on the names of those listed in the @January6thCmte letters, stories like the ones below could be told. 👇🏻 👇🏻
@maddow @JoyAnnReid @CNN @MSNBC @NBCNews
The @January6thCmte letters provide insight into who and what they are looking for. Robert Patrick Lewis’ name appears on that list. Reporters, you can tell us why.
Just pick a name on the @January6thCmte request for information letter and tell us a news story about why they might be included. A name like Mike Flynn for instance.
