1/ If this is what aging looks like, sign me up to go gray 😉

But in all seriousness — while it's kind of crazy that @orca_so is considered OG after just 7 months live, it's also a testament to the value of growing at your own pace.
2/ When @rawfalafel and I started Orca, we had no outside support.

No investors, no insider info... no "in" besides an inimitable belief that we could build something of true value.
3/ In many ways, we were in over our heads.

But @aeyakovenko and the team saw something in us and included us in the first wave of #Solana grants.

That vote of support gave us the confidence that we could build something big—and do it on our own terms.
4/ Everything in that first version of Orca, from the UI to the logo to the brand voice, was handcrafted by the two of us.

We made mistakes, sure. But as a result, our little whale has a human touch—a real personality—that stands out in DeFi.
5/ Founders: Don't be afraid to do things your way.

I was once told that "Orca makes too many puns."

Guess they just couldn't appreciate our kriller personality 🦐

1/ Whenever someone says they "don't get" #NFTs, I tell them a story.
2/ When I was a kid, I had a pet dragon.

Her name was Marina0238, and she was the most perfect little blue Shoyru you ever did meet. Image
3/ It didn't matter that, when it came to pixels, she was exactly the same as all the other blue Shoryus.

Every day for nearly three years, I fetched her omelettes, took her to the Battledome, and searched for a cool paintbrush, so she could look as special as she was to me.

Top 4 pieces of advice I received during our fundraise:
1. Decide on the structure of your round and stick to it.

Once you start getting attention, funds will bully you to change it to suit their needs. Remember, the ball is in your court.
2. The first commit is the hardest.

At first, it might feel like no one wants in. Discouraging doesn't begin to cover it.

But that first partner can be your greatest ally. Everything can change in an instant.
