Happy birthday to George Guvamatanga, Madyira. Wish you many more years. Enjoy more life, hoping you have a new perspective of life after your near death experience with Covid. I understand, after such, your whole lifestyle changes. Enjoy your work, wealth and your family.
In the process I hope you also create a trust to help the disadvantaged. Very few move from the private sector into Gvt to help the country. Yours is a national service, same with Doug Munatsi of ZIDA.
I have known you to be a progressive Zimbabwean. Your type are needed to bring about the much needed change. 50 years is a milestone. All the best Madyira. @GGuvamatanga

One of the things which I must admit about, was how I hated NGOs due to @ZANUPF_Official propaganda which framed them as enemies of the state. Yet they were there to fight for people's rights, including those in ZANU.
Only when I left ZANU did the truth dawn on me. Also when I got arrested some of these organisations stood with me. @ZLHRLawyers gave me lawyers. I began to realise that Zanu hated them because they conscientise people and make them aware of their rights.
Going towards elections ZANU has started again contriving stories against them. There is no need for that. Zimbabweans know what they want.

Our economy is a political economy. The day it departs from being that and operates strictly in economic terms we will make progress. We have to follow the pure dictates of economics.
There are 7 simple steps we have to be cognizant of in this mess. 1)You Auction what you physically have but if you want to Auction what you don't have you have a duty to tell the Bidders that you are Auctioning what you don't have.
2. RBZ has been conducting Auctions every 2 weeks and has NEVER disclosed that it was Auctioning currency that it didn't have.

So Obadiah Moyo went through all the trouble& trauma, lost his job etc only to have the case dismissed. That's why I say arresting authorities and Prosecutor General's Office work on political instructions. The judges look at the matters impartially and dismiss them.
Too many arrests and very few successful prosecutions. Previously I wanted to sue the state over wrongful arrets and the late Mugabe told me not to. Said I should learn to forgive. What I appreciate is that the system hardened me.
That is why I'm where I am because of repeated arrests that I have gone through. Ndatove bhanditi I don't care.

I attended a prebudget seminar and one of the major takeaways was that you cannot blame money changers for the exchange spike. We have got a Gvt that is paying contractors using RTGs yet the same companies need to find forex. Where do you think they are getting it?
So ultimately Gvt is indirectly feeding the informal exchange market. It's unfortunate that it is being stubborn& refusing to face that truth. However, you cannot be stubborn with the economy. The economy isn't like people whom you force to vote for you, it has its own nature.
The economy cannot be corralled like that. It doesn't need a heavy-handed approach. They have arrested people and yet the rate continues. Image

All this infrastructure that government is doing isn't it its mandatory work? It's unusual when a father is constantly calling his children, blowing his trumpet when he buys them bread, relish, milk etc. It gets you to ask what is his role then.
You can't be expected to say well done to your father for simply doing what he is mandated to do. In fact, it's an indictment of our poor standards that people expect to be praised for merely doing their jobs. If we get a culture of everyone doing their job then we will be good.
The sonorous insistence to derive praise for mandatory duties is disturbing, not because the works are bad they are good, but because it's tantamount to not understanding your role. These are box-ticking projects. Let's raise standards& aim beyond achieving basics.

We laid Josphat 'Samanyanga' Chiweshe to rest. What a man he was. He was among the guys who stood with me and you can never talk about Mash West without mentioning Chiweshe.

People like Josphat did so much for @ZANUPF_Official but he passed away with very little to show for it. It's painful.
