Almost exactly a year ago, on August 31, 2020, Portland cop Thomas Clark chased down a protester, tackled him, pinned him to the ground, and punched him repeatedly in the face.

Yesterday, ‘progressive’ DA Mike Schmidt said this brutality “was justified”

While the crimes of Portland police are being excused by the DA — despite video evidence of excessive force

The same leniency is not being applied to Portlanders exercising their 1A rights…

E.g.: Beta faces decades in prison for defending an old man from a hammer-wielding Nazi Image
.@cozca503 is facing protest-related charges and, like Beta, cannot persuade the Portland DA’s office to act in line with the principles new head DA Mike Schmidt ran on to earn election in 2020

DA Mike Schmidt just told the people of Portland to make peace with Proud Boys…

But this was Portland last year, on August 22, with local anti-fascists defending the city against rightwing extremist intruders



Yall keep an eye on PDX this weekend
As an abolitionist I understand the language Portland DA Mike Schmidt uses during this presser preceding the city’s 8/22/21 clash

But wrong place, wrong time.

Literal Nazis from other cities and states are invading your city, armed and planning violence
Today in Portland, the Proud Boys attacked anyone and everyone they could

Destroyed an emergency van

And smoke bombed their own stage setup at an abandoned Kmart

With no law enforcement in sight

Cause Proud Boys and PDX police are one and the same
