PAGASA TROPICAL CYCLONE (11 AM UPDATE)

Tropical storm #MaringPH has merged with the remnants of “Nando” and is now moving northwestward over the Philippine Sea.

• The center of Tropical Storm “MARING” was estimated based on all available data at 730 km East of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

• Maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 105 km/h.

• Today, moderate to heavy rains due to the tropical storm are possible over Catanduanes. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains are also possible over the rest of Bicol Region and Visayas.

Under these conditions, isolated to scattered flash floods and rain-induced landslides are possible especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazard as identified in hazard maps.

• Under the influence of Tropical Storm Maring and the northeasterly wind flow, a Gale Warning is in effect for eastern seaboards of the country. For more information, refer to Gale Warning #4 issued at 5:00 AM today.

• In the next 24 hours, moderate to rough seas will prevail the remaining seaboards of Luzon and Visayas, and the northern seaboard of Mindanao. These conditions are risky for those using small seacrafts.

Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions.
