For the record, we don't expect Rotten Tomatoes to respond, much less operate honestly. We've previously caught them rigging the rating for Disney. Just thought we'd point out their latest trick.
As supporters of indie creators, we feel it necessary to unequivocally disavow this sort of adversarial behavior. In spite of the potential legalities of the work in question, we don't feel that Disney needs any unsolicited assistance in protecting their intellectual property
While holding creators accountable for their craft, how they deal with customers, etc aligns with our values, "tattling" on creators for what may be perceived as a slight to some corporate overlords doesn't, especially when being done by a competitor, and not an actual customer.
However, accountability is healthy for all creators, and so we concede that the comic in question may not have not have been executed to the standard that many customers expected. That needs to remedied and is worthy of discussion. We encourage customers & critics to discuss it.
