Brainstorming a plot for a spy thriller and I keep including crypto as part of the bad guy's background and really showing my biases.
My notes: "... and he uses crypto somehow for terrorism..."
Side note but I find plotting so hard. The actual writing is relatively easy but I can't plot for shit.
Even in an action adventure type story I like the bad guy to have some kind of motivation beyond "is evil" and so I probably spend too much time trying to come up with the "why."
A lot of story ideas I have would probably be better movies but realistically some kind of novel is the only path I have until I magically get that Netflix development deal 😂
And then at the same time writing 80-100k words is very difficult for me. I am the king of the half-finished novel.

If democrats were as unified and dishonest as the right they’d argue that Trump’s trade war caused the supply chain problems and Republicans are to blame for canceling Christmas
The key here though is to just come up with a story to tell people. You can be 100% truthful when doing so, but you gotta tell a story of some sort.
Conservatives tell their supporters a story. Sometimes liberals do it too (Obama’s path to the presidency, Russian election interference) but it’s so infrequent.
Just a thought but if a prominent conservative/Republican says something it is already out there. I get you’re worried about amplification but we can’t ignore this stuff and hope it just goes away. That’s what libs used to do w Limbaugh and it didn’t help. Expose, mock, deride.
“Ignore Limbaugh he’s not worth your time” was a liberal goto for decades. In that time he seeded poison and venom on the right, motivating millions of voters with crackpot ideas and bullshit we had no clue about. Ditto Fox News. It was a strategic error.
In an idealogical war ignoring what your enemy is up to is a bad move.
i guess im a first amendment absolutist type and many liberals dont agree with that a lot of the time. bad speech should still be free. its part of the price we pay.
a big part of my career and personal life has been fighting against fox news, which is a cauldron of evil. and yet i would still argue fox has a legal right to say what they say. they should be opposed at very loud decibels. but theyve got a right to it. just like kkk.
i dont want the govt ever in a position to define what "news" is and who is allowed to give you news. ever. you might feel good if its joe biden doing it, but what about when its donald trump or george w bush? and tbh i wouldnt want joe doing it.
Media reporters please try and understand the media you're reporting on challenge
I'm not the beginning and end of the universe and I'm definitely not an impartial observer but I've reported on right wing media for over a decade now and I actually consume the stuff to see wtf they're doing. And I honestly don't think most media reporters in the MSM do that.
Because the right wing media they describe frequently in their reporting bares no resemblance to the real thing
The NYT isn't of the left and there can't be a right wing news site that does legitimate journalism because that isn't what conservatives want. In reality @brianstelter knows all this and most of this is silly playacting
Every week the NYT does "news analysis" of Biden that is really just better written versions of Fox & Friends monologues and cons will swear on a pack of Bibles that the paper is the DNCs newsletter.
