We should use these first #IndigenousPeoplesDay markings to keep cutting into Columbus, but as we mark it more we'll have to talk about OUR treatment of our Indigenous nations and racists out here trying to silence any/all talk about our racist past don't like this concept.
We eventually are going to talk about how WE betrayed and broke multiple treaties with Native nations, talk about OUR Residential School-based campaign of forced assimilation which led to abuse and death of Native children, about all systematic actions against Indigenous America.
#IndigenousPeoplesDay is mean to start a real conversation about OUR treatment of Indigenous Americans, and that's eventually what this holiday is going to be about...and that's why racists are outright FURIOUS with the concept of this holiday.
