Okay historian, please point out flaws in @vikramsampath work. You have 6 books to chose from, but you can start from the latest two on Savarkar.
Historians, much like Journalists, have eroded themselves over the past 70 years but indulging more in ideological bunkum than what their profession entails.

It is the reason why the "Professional Historian" gets no attention at best and his jeered at, at worst.
* by indulging.
Lay people had no say in historical matters for many years. Professional Historians wrote whatever they wanted.

Turns out there were so many blunders that it is difficult to take any historian seriously. Unless he / she proves otherwise.
There are some people who value the scabbard over the sword.

#Kabir.
He gets called to the Conclave BECAUSE he has launched 2 scholarly books on Savarkar and not the other way round.

Why don't you, with your added qualification of Professional Historian produce a sufficiently strong counter ?
Professional Historians have had all the time in the world to write good history books. But, for example in Maratha History, a @MulaMutha still does better than all of them put together through evidence based research.

This, after he has spent most of his life in the Navy.
Flashy lights and slick videos can get someone only thus far, especially in today's age where every page is passed through a sieve.

A book dealing with History has to be good. Else it will get called out for flaws in no time.
What if you find that all our doctors are indulging in fake cures and quackery ?

Thats whats happened to Professional Historians.

Loss of credibility.

But the MBBS degree has kept it's respect, hence only qualified doctors are called to talk about medicine.
While we are on topic of Professional Historians ..this article is well worth your time.

So far no one has countered it.

And btw... 3rd year History students of a reputed Pune college...

Couldn't describe to me the Battle of Palkhed.

And had no clue about the Battle of Bhopal.
Most of us, who have worked a proper job, know that paper credentials do not matter beyond a point - and only work does.

Ah yes, indeed. But a lot many were.

But guess how many are listed in our textbooks as Islamist ? - Zero.

I agree, chequered clarity is missing.
An invasion such as Somnath is also conveniently swept under some So Mannat fairy tale. Ghaznavi destroyed it because it protected the So Mannat idol from Arabia. Lulz.
Let me know if this was found anywhere in the textbooks :

The " Padarth" of the Jagannath Puri idols was chased by Kala Pahar all the way to Lake Chilka.

In fact there are many occasions that the murtis were moved.

The biggest lesson from Shivaji Maharaj's life is the imposition of cost.

1. Shaiste Khan looted Pune. Chhatrapati Shivaji did not stop at merely driving him out, but looted Surat

2.Portuguese passed an anti-Hindu law. Chhatrapati Shivaji beheaded 4 Padres who passed the law
Slaying Afzal Khan would have confirmed Chhatrapati Shivaji's greatness.

Instead, he opened a campaign that doubled his own territory !

All this meant two things :

1. His adversaries would think ten times before attempting an adventure.

2.Compelled to pour resources in.
In the first example we have Adil Shah, who did not try a Afzal Khan type adventure again.

In the second we have the Mughals.. sending ever higher ranking mansabdar till finally Aurangzeb himself took the field against the Marathas.
