Insofar as there's an explanation for his Worstness, it's apparently what you'd expect: socially awkward child, picked on by the cool kids, developed an air of haughty contempt as a defense mechanism, has devoted his life to poking cool kids in the eye in revenge.
Seems to view Trump -- another terrified, self-loathing manchild with a giant, unfillable void at his center who tries to fill it by dominating & imposing cruelty on others -- as a kindred spirit. Not much there there -- just a vindictive sociopath at this point.
